Up till now, I've been good about staying out of this "discussion" on the election....but I've got to chime in on this.....coming home from work heard this McCain commercial on the radio.....I can't believe such outright lies, smears and scare tactics....saying Obama wants sex education taught in kindergarten.....WILL raise taxes on only the middle class....doesn't support a balanced budget......it went on and on
I HAD the utmost respect for McCain for his service to America and for what he endured.....that is diminishing every day as he stoops to new lows every day as he endorses these ads that are such lies it is amazing.

I saw clips of McCain on The View today.....the ladies were very tough on him...so for those who think Charles Gibson was "too tough" on Palin, watch these ladies grill McCain.

The ONLY thing McCain has run on, so far in this campaign, is outright lies, negativity, and fear.

...and the defense of McCain/Palin pretty much sounds like the exact same. :-? :-? :-?

Caught about 5 minutes of the Gibson/Palin interview on the news tonight. As long as they're fair, I don't think a journalist can be "too tough." Had a little trouble concentrating on some of her answers, occasionally I seem to hear Frances McDormand from Fargo. That's my fault, not hers.

The ad claims "Obama's one accomplishment" in the realm of education was "legislation to teach 'comprehensive sex education' to kindergarteners."

It's true that the phrase "comprehensive sex education" appeared in the bill, but little else in McCain's claim is accurate. The ad refers to a bill Obama supported in the Illinois state Senate to update the sex education curriculum and make it "medically accurate." It would have lowered the age at which students would begin what the bill termed "comprehensive sex education" to include kindergarten. But it mandated the instruction be "age-appropriate" for kindergarteners when addressing topics such as sexually transmitted diseases. The bill also would have granted parents the opportunity to remove their children from the class without question:

SB 99: However, no pupil shall be required to take or participate in any family life class or course on HIV AIDS or family life instruction if his parent or guardian submits written objection thereto, and refusal to take or participate in such course or program shall not be reason for suspension or expulsion of such pupil.

The bill also called for all sex education course materials to include information that would help students recognize, among other activities, inappropriate touching, sexual assault and rape:

omg... that ba$tard.. how dare he actually encourage sex education that is age-appropriate...

tho.. come to think of it...

My thoughts exactly on McCain. I used to like him and respect him, but not with the kind of campaign he's now running. It's everything he stood against after losing in 2000 because of this kind of campaigning.

Just saw more clips of interview, had to laugh at what you posted. You're right, I also hear it. But like you said that's not her fault, you might think I have an accent also...

Agree with you, the 2000 McCain could rightfully claim the "maverick" title. The 2008 McCain learned real fast that he wasn't "Republican" enough to get the full party support , so he had to sell out / flip-flop on the issues he stood for the last 25 years.

I won't vote for McCain because I'm afraid we'll get the 2000 McCain.

IMHO, both sides have been doing the exact same thing.

And my question is do the people who 'run' these campaigns actually think the majority of people fall for that kind of crap??

Tell me what and HOW you, as president, will get them done. Remember, most everything has to go through the House and Senate, and as president, you don't have control over everything.

SNL is going to have a field day with their season opener tomorrow. I hear Tina Fey is going to be on, obviously playing Palin and Obama will also be on.

This is a simple one... Democrats will control both houses next year. It's not even a question.
The likelihood of success pushing through change lies with Obama.
McCain would have to change from his positions if he wants to institute anything at all.

The upcoming debates will be a good measure of the politician you'll get
but here's a good place to start, and they're easy to digest...
