IMHO, both sides have been doing the exact same thing.
And my question is do the people who 'run' these campaigns actually think the majority of people fall for that kind of crap??
I don't want sound bites. I don't want cliche's. I don't want personal attacks.
Tell me what and HOW you, as president, will get them done. Remember, most everything has to go through the House and Senate, and as president, you don't have control over everything.
This is a simple one... Democrats will control both houses next year. It's not even a question.
The likelihood of success pushing through change lies with Obama.
McCain would have to change from his positions if he wants to institute anything at all.
The upcoming debates will be a good measure of the politician you'll get
but here's a good place to start, and they're easy to digest...
Take a look at both and you decide which one gets to the answers you seek...
Thanks-I was going to post the links as well.
You seldom will get much in the way of specifics in interviews, speeches and debates because it is felt that most people don't want that level of detail. The candidate's position statements on their websites are always a great source for the detail.

Just heard Obama canceled, in light of the approaching hurricane.

They obviously do. How else did the right wing turn John Kerry's service around and turn it into a bad thing in 2004. John McCain's campaign took a decisively negative tone in a short amount of time. They realized that they couldn't win on the issues, so they spout lies like Obama wants to teach kindergartners sex education, or that Obama will raise everyone's taxes. Both sides do negative campaigning, but the McCain campaign has been worse so far. I think that you'll see the Obama campaign getting down into the gutter soon because they have no choice.

SNL is not reporting that he has cancelled.
I heard it on MSNBC last night. Here's a link, too. If it's on the interrnet, it must be true.

New York Times piece ... I hold to my first statement ... they did not vet her enough ... There's more coming out every day ... abuse of power ... personal vendettas ... she didn't really go to Iraq like she said ... and refusing to release records ... maybe these things don't matter to the faithful, but will it play in Peoria?
Anybody catch SNL last night? I turned it on to see Michael Phelps, but the opening was a Hilary/Palin skit. Tina Fey absolutely had Palin down perfectly, especially the accent. But after the first five minutes, the rest of that show was pretty much unwatchable. A chuckle or two during Weekend Update, but the skits were terrible. Wow, I hadn't seen the show in quite awhile, now I remember why.
