Too late:

McCain officials said the news of the daughter's pregnancy was being released to rebut what one aide called "mud-slinging and lies" circulating on liberal blog sites.

According to these rumors, Sarah Palin had faked a pregnancy and pretended to have given birth in May to her fifth child, a son named Trig who has Down syndrome. The rumor was that Trig was actually Bristol Palin's child and that Sarah Palin was the grandmother.

Issues are sooooooo boring anyway, totally last century. Character assassination is what people want to see. Even if it involves a 17 year old girl from a small town in Alaska.
Doesn't surprise me.....it would have played out the same no matter which side of the fence it was on. Politics is dirty business that thrives on dirty laundery.......sadly.

Which say a lot about the character of the person slinging the mud.
And THAT'S the kind of leader Americans want?

All I can say is I hope the next 30 years go by quickly.

The comment said it was coming from liberal blogs, not from the candidate.

I know. There's all kinds of comments coming from the blogs. (Is THAT really a word)?

I guess it just comes down to which do you believe and which don't you believe. Knowing the mindset of the typical American voter, however, I can pretty well answer my own question.

Gee, I wonder if Al Gore ever realized what a firestorm he started when he invented the internet.

And I STILL hope the next 30 years goes by quickly.

Just retuned from running errands and was channel surfing the radio. Did you know Sarah Palin is a questionable mother because she has a Down syndrome child that requires care and she’s running for Vice President? Did you know that people are actually questioning the Republican’s family values by putting such a woman on their ticket, and on top of that she has a pregnant daughter too!! Surprisingly, those comments came from a news anchor on CNN.

Actually BO did a good thing!

In Monroe, Mich., Democrat Obama condemned rumors involving the children of candidates and echoed the McCain campaign argument. He said, "I think people's families are off limits, and people's children are especially off limits."

BO also said if it was leaked from his campaign staff those people would be fired. That would be nice to see.

I see where she has just hired a lawyer to assist in fending off the speculation/investigation of her possible abuse the power of office in getting her deadbeat ex-BIL fired.

Dude,

I'm being sued and had to get a lawyer. My crime is I was talked into being the president of a community road maintenance association. One of the home owners didn't like what the majority of all the other home owners voted on and he's sueing me.

Oh- FYI her BIL has got to be a Raider fan, the lowest of all life forms. Who else would tazer their own children? Don't forget the guy is a cop. We all need cops like this on our streets:

The trouble between Wooten and the governor’s sister broke into the open after an alleged incident in February 2005. Palin told an internal affairs investigator that she overheard on a speakerphone [trooper Michael] Wooten arguing with her sister and threatening to kill their father. Fearful for her family members’ lives, Palin said she drove to her sister’s house and watched the argument through a window.

Wooten’s words were, ‘I will kill him. He’ll eat a [expletive] lead bullet, I’ll shoot him,’ if our father got the attorney to help Molly,” Palin said in an e-mail she wrote in August 2005 to the chief of the state police. “I heard this death threat, my 16-year-old son heard it (Track Palin), Molly heard it, as did their small children. Wooten spoke with his Trooper gun on his hip in an extremely intimidating fashion, leaving no doubt he is serious about taking someone’s life who disagrees with him.

Also, this model citizen drank beer while on duty and killed a moose without a hunting license.

Paige and Gary- I think you know I'm not throwing mud at all law enforcement professionals.

And no worries here, Dan.
I know you have respect for the law enforcement profession, if not a particular officer.
Hell, I don't respect all L.E.O.s either

Daily Kos is the nastiest left wing blog I've ever read. Some of it I find extremely difficult to even read. Nothing but hate and discontent.
