Everyone keeps saying that Obama is equally inexperienced as Palin, but I'm looking at what they've each accomplished politically the last 11 years, and Obama takes the cake both in education and public service. Admittedly his pores aren't oozing with experience, but he's made far better campaign choices. McCain certainly has a longer political life than Obama, but I don't think his credentials make him more qualified, either. I think the experience Obama/Biden brings to the table outweighs that of McCain/Palin.

Had McCain picked Ridge, I think he would have been harder to beat.

He would have been impossible to beat. This is because I would have voted for him, and everyone else in the nation would have followed suit in an attempt, futile as it would be, to be as cool as me.

What has Obama accomplished? What legislation, if any, has he sponsored that's become law? He's been in the Senate for 4 years and he spent pretty much all of the last 2 years running for President instead of being a senator. And as much as he talks about change and ending the partisan politics in Washington, he has one of the most, if not the most, liberal voting records in the Senate. If he hasn't shown the willingness to cross the aisle and work with the other side when he was only the junior senator from Illinois, what makes anyone think he'll be any different as President? It's laughable that in a nation of 300 million people these are the best we can come up with.

There's a certain irony in the fact that many of the same people who crucified Lynne Spears are such staunch defenders of Sarah Palin.
Who is this Lynne Spears?
Mother of Britney & Jamie Lynn
OK, I don't remember attacking Lynn Spears, I may have said Who Cares? and possibly said something about the trailer park who knows. I do recognize that kids have sex and that pregnancy occurs when kids experiment. Seems that they are doing the right thing supporting their daughter. I don't know how i feel about a 17 yr old getting married, but with both sides working together the child will have a good chance.

I agree.
Let's put Gov. Palin at the TOP of the ticket.

LOL Nothing he has sponsored has even made it out of Senate Committee.

I heard via the news (not via Palin herself) that Bristol and the baby daddy are going to be married. I hope this is because they want to be married because they love eachother and not because that's the way things have to be because she's Palin's daughter. It doesn't do anyone any good to marry someone because your momma's political advisors says so. This dude could be a total assclown and poor Bristol is stuck being his wife simply for her mother's political career. He could be a super-swell guy, too, I'm just sayin'.

And there is more than one piece of legislation that John McCain has sponsored, or even had his name attached to, that he now wouldn't even vote for. What's that tell you about him?

Jamie Spears had her baby, and everyone left her alone.
The only thing I did was roll my eyes and say to myself "Slow media day, apparently."
Anyway, SHE HAD THE BABY, AND THE DRIVE-BY MEDIA AND THEIR LEMMINGS LEFT HER ALONE.

They should do the same with this young lady.
Unless they like grasping for straws.

McCain is the John Kerry of this election cycle. He is saying whatever it takes. He is flipping on a lot of issues. The party is taking the "Not Obama" approach like Kerry had the "not Bush" because McCain doesn't have anything to run on. I am very disappointed in the Rep party and the Rep talking heads for the current train wreck we are looking at. Instead of vetting the rep candidates during the primary, they ran an anti-Hillary campaign. If they would have spent that time discussing their own candidates perhaps we wouldn't be stuck with this garbage.

Here's a FASCINATING new development...

Turns out Van Halen is more than a little P.O.'d that John McCain's campaign used their song "Right Now" during the introduction of Gov. Sarah Palin on Friday.

meanwhile, Sammy Hagar, who was part of the group at the time the song was released
says, "what the ****, I think it's great!".

A lawsuit is being considered for illegal use of creative property without permission!!

By the way, here's a Wikipedia article on Obama's legislation... so it's not accurate to say he hasn't done anything...

I wasn't pointing fingers at anyone or intending to put anyone on the defensive (the guilty know who they are). I just think we (and that's a very generalized "we") have a tendancy towards what I call "selective morality". We are only too happy to criticize or even demonize unacceptable behavior by someone we don't know or don't like (or don't want to like). But we're able to excuse or at least rationalize the same behavior by someone we know or like. And I include myself amongst this merry band of hypocrites. :-?

Oh exactly. I agree. I was more meaning to point out the irony. Maybe McCain should be using the song "Oops I Did it Again" as his campaign song.

Got to remember, he was part of the Senate minority (no pun intended) in the first half of his term. Democrats couldn't get squat passed, and currently still lack the 60-vote "super majority" to override a Presidential veto.

Look for that to change come November...

Or maybe Obama's looking for the crossover vote, since conservatives traditionally favor less government intrusion. Less legislation = less government, right?

And now, there's a breaking story that when Palin was mayor, she asked the city librarian how to go about banning books ... the librarian balked and was threatened with firing ...

http://www.time.com/time/politics/artic ... 18,00.html

How could McCain's people NOT have known about this? All they had to do was ask the current mayor. Egads. :o
