Columbus Georgia.....

Not exactly a hot travel destination....nonetheless will be going to Auburn for the game against LSU and looks like the closet place available to stay is Columbus/Phenix City Alabama.
Can ANYONE reccomend anything in Columbus???????

There used to a a hamburger stand called the Paratrooper located there. It wasn't too bad. Sort of like White Castle but not exactly, if you know what I mean. Other than that, I can't think of many positive things to say but I only was there a very short time.

I would stay in Montgomery, AL or Newnan, GA instead of Columbus, IMHO.

I went to basic training in Columbus at Fort Benning and there aint a whole lot to do unless you like used care dealerships, strip clubs and pawn shops. you might want to check out victory lane.
