We Will Rock You wasn't the only Queen song Celine played, but it sure was the worst. The way her dancers were following her around the stage, I swore they were about to start snapping their fingers like some kind of Guys and Dolls moment.
I said Guys and Dolls and I meant West Side Story. I'm so out of touch with musicals from before I was born.

I think of all the concerts I have been to in my life...Jimmy doing "Glory Days" was the worst. I was listening to the Wrigley Field show the other day and he forgot the words....

I have a CD of some covers by Hootie, they do some good stuff on there. "Gravity of The Situation" and "Dream Baby" come to mind. We won't have to worry about anymore bad covers from them since they went on hiatus for 5 years starting last month.

Kenny does some really brutual covers of people. Including "You Shook Me All Night Long" and "Jack and Diane"

Glory Days is terrible, no doubt - but have you ever heard him do Trippin Billies? Talk about painful...

Just the thought sounds brutal....

He covered "Helpless" by Neil Young a few years back. Was that any good?

there is not enough tequila to make that song worth listening to once, much less again

I am stunned by all of the people here who bash Jimmy doing Tripping Billies and Glory Days. Yet, I almost never hear people complain about him releasing covers of Sweet Caroline or Respect. Awful... Simply awful.

I'm prolly the only one, but I actually LIKE Jimmy doing Glory Days. Admittedly, sometimes it's not so good, but sometimes it rocks.

Now, the worst I've ever seen...

I once inadvertently ended up at a Steve Wariner concert and saw him do a medley of his greatest hits.

Several problems.... first, he sang them really badly... second, transitions from one song to the next were very awkward/strained/weird AND LAST... nobody knew the songs anyway.

I would not have had a problem with Jimmy doing "Glory Days" except he forgot the words in the middle of the song....

I don't mind performers taking a song and adding their style and making it "their own" Jimmy does that on a lot of stuff he releases. UB40 has also released a number of great covers. I do have a problem with an accomplished performer doing a cover and trying to sound like the original. An even bigger crime is to do the cover trying to sound like the original as a closing song.

I hit Nissan, Camden, and Pittsburgh that year, so I probably heard it 3 times. Wasn't it the intro to WDWGDAS?

His cover of Glory Days is bad, but not as bad as Trippin' Billies.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but his version of Rainy Day Women is starting to grow on me. (That goes no farther than Buffett News, okay)?

But I think the absolute WORST cover I ever heard Jimmy do of ANY song was that GOD-AWFUL song by the Talking Heads (don't recall the title, and don't especially want to know). It was last year or the year before-and I hope that's the LAST time he ever covers it.
I can't believe he'd rather do songs like that instead of "Somewhere Over China", "All the Ways I Want You," "Madamosielle Volez Vous Danser," et. al.

But that's just me. :D
