Glory Days is terrible, no doubt - but have you ever heard him do Trippin Billies? Talk about painful...
I've heard him do it TWICE. :o
I hit Nissan, Camden, and Pittsburgh that year, so I probably heard it 3 times. Wasn't it the intro to WDWGDAS?
Sure was... and as a Buffett-newbie at that time, I thought it was hilarious. Now, I just smirk a little.

And BTW, I like Jimmy's version of Rainy Day Women. "How'd you get those good seats to this show???"

Apparently so.
They were all wearing long pants, as if to hide something.

It's not that their version was bad. It was just bad to hear them play it.

Doubt if he got 'em all... .but that's ok. Sometimes it's more fun when he makes up lyrics on the go. :D

On a similar topic, I'm sure they were (re)-written beforehand, but his lyrics to Fruitcakes at the Chicago show were HI-larious.

He's been changing up the lyrics to Fruitcakes at every show, personalizing them for the city the show's in. And he's using the teleprompter big time.

Okay. I think I need to correct myself. It's Tripping Billies that I've heard twice (Nissan, Aspen). Glory Days only once. I happened to get Tripping Billies and Glory Days at the same show, which is why I think I was confused.

Was it Richard Harris who did MacArthur Park? And Pat Boone doing heavy metal, although I never actually heard any of it. I just heard about it.

Aw now, rednekkPH, SURELY you like William Shatner in "Boston Legal." Only TV lawyer I've ever seen pull a gun from his desk and shoot a client in the knee, defend himself in court, and WIN! [smilie=gunhappyyank.gif]

(You're right, though, Shatner really shouldn't be allowed to sing. [smilie=puking.gif] )

Yep, Pat Boone had "No More Mr Nice Guy" but they were like easy listening versions of metal songs. It was actually rather amusing!
