My wife will be extremely excited. I gotta admit, some of their stuff is pretty cool.

OK......I have to say that I HATED Ikea....it was one of the single most horrible shopping experiences of my life.....I got lost, like a thousand times...their sh*t is ugly....the layout of the store is confusing.....it's just over-whelming.........I was so disappointed because I drove 50 miles to see it and wanted to love it.....but I hated it.

I LOVE IKEA!!!!

I am slowing getting more storage systems in my wardrobes ... have a plan now for the mess in the shelves of my coffee table - they have smaller storage boxes - they will look nice in there!

And the breakfast for $2 is pretty good value!!!!

I'm worried that the two people on this site I resemble most are not feeling the Ikea love. Perhaps I'm doomed to the container store and American Furniture Warehouse.

That's how the cult of Ikea pulls you in, with the Ikea love. Then you start buying all the stuff with weird names you can't pronounce and then you are trapped.

We got the fall catalog at our house last week. I put in it in my neighbors fire pit and burned it [smilie=beadygrinner.gif]

I agree with getting lost. Ikea on a weekend? Forget it, the crowds are unbearable

But like I said, some good deals can be found, but not all are good deals. For the most part the stuff is good quality.

And be prepared to put a lot of crap together. When I moved into my apartment, I wasnt set up for over a week. I didnt want to see an instruction booklet for a year after all that assembling

But yeah the meatballs are f'in goooood. :pirate:

:D Me too. That's why I don't go there often.

Never been to an Ikea. Where it's being built? Right across the highway from my office. So I'll be able to see it being built.

I don't like it either...although it's been a loooooooong time since I've been in one. I remember going there with my bro back when they first came to SoCal I think. Besides having a horrible personal experience there when my the automatic seat belt in my bro's car RIPPED my entire earring from my ear :o :o  , I just didn't like the store. And I couldn't figure out why all the furniture seemed to come in the same sized box, no matter what it was. For years I thought it was like those things you drop in water and they expand. Poof!!! Instant furniture!

I know when they've opened them in the Sacto area in recent years there have been people lined up for days for the grand opening, just to get the free gift cards.

I had never experienced an Ikea until very recently.
We had to get my daughter a bed for her off campus apartment - and there was one she saw online that was listed as in stock at the Ikea near where she would be, so we figured that would be an easy fix....
O - M - G ! ! :o
I was in NO WAY prepared for the maze that is called a store! ! ! And to top it all off the maps and signage was all completely in French! :o
(Oh I forgot to mention she goes to school in Montréal) We got lost several times and separated to the point of having to use our cell phones to re-connect once. But thank goodness the salespeople were all bilingual and very helpful. Amazingly enough we found all the right boxes in the warehouse and even assembled it all with no parts left over! :)
