Speaking of misunderstanding others' lyrics...when I was a small child, I was SOOOO EXCITED when Elvis recorded a song about me...Return to Cinda!

My daughter used to think that the line in Southern Cross was "looking for that Mormon girl" instead of the actual line of "Lookin' for that woman/girl".

And of course there has always been confusion over...
I'm in the nude for love,
stripping because you're near me.

I never have figured out "making me over" from Who's the blonde stranger.
Does anyone know what that phrase means?
Thanks

I always took it as causing a change in behavior and/or looks. Sort of the "I'm a stud because I'm with her now, instead of my partner".

Took the last plane out of Saigon
Took
the first fast boat to China
And "Jimmy, there's still so much to be done."

I think first time I heard Desperation Samba... never dawned on me that the refrain was in Spanish
Yo quiero bailar en Mexico
Do the Desperation Samba Con nos amigos
And I'm not even going to try the First Look Verse....
But this is really nothing new for me....

I think the song is called "The Lookout Gang". There's a line that says "I know it's a shabby old building." Always thought he was saying "I know it's a chevy we're building." Ooops.

The backgroud chorus of Great Heart....In the live version I think they sing 'My boombox and my capezzio?????' If you llisten to the original version on Hot Water....I can't tell. It's not the same.
