I was at a business cocktail party the other night and a friend asked me about the GW concert. Whatever it was I said caused her boss to say "OK this isn't an interest it's bordering on obsession" (I was talking about possibly going to Tahiti) He followed that with "But I wish I had something that did for me what this apparently does for you" and he's the second person to tell me that in the last few years since I got involved in this madness. It made me laugh and I kind of had to agree with him.
Now I'm not naive - I don't think Jimmy is God, I don't buy all his products (I DO think he's adorably cute though I can't help that) and I don't love ALL his music. But when I spend "Buffett time" I can forget that I'm an over 50 victim of fate with a day job and bills and responsibilities - and to me that makes it all worthwhile.

I've reached the conclusion...after thinking about this for the past few days. Margaritaville is that place you go to when the stress of reality gets to much, it's looking out your sliding glass door in the dead of winter and everyone else seeing three feet of snow and feeling the chill of winter and you seeing a sand beach, palm trees, and beautiful blue water. It's at least where I go. It's warm and all the bills are paid, no mouthy teenagers. Just peace and relaxation.

Thanks for the bump on this thread. I missed it the first time around and there is some CLASSIC group humor here!

So long as the Volcano doesn't seem to be offended and everyone else joins in, we all get some laughs!

Yes - my back is screwed up. So I have a lot of time right now since I can't work (landscaping).
