So before the hijacking goes to far afield, I just want to see if I'm reading this correctly, the majority feel that the McCain Health Care Reform Plan is good and what they would prefer. Is that correct?

I think McCain's is realistic and something that could actually happen. I think Obama's Univeral Health Care without raising taxes is a massive lie.

All I will say further, (and in closing for tonight...yay!!!) is that it is not nearly as rosy a picture in San Diego vs. your location, DP66, and...
I am glad that you feel your situation is not adversely affected. :)

I want the same health care benefits John McCain has. (And Obama for that matter) If it's good enough for them, it's good enough for me. And while were at it, I want the same retirement and pension plan they have. I also want to work the same schedule they do. I would enjoy summers off. If ALL these politicians say they care about the middle class (me) , I want the same deal they have. Am I asking for too much ?

Yeah. If a "government-run health plan" is so horrible, why is all of Congress using it?

Then you should look at Barack Obama. From www.barackobama.com:

"Obama and Biden will make available a new national health plan to all Americans, including the self-employed and small businesses, to buy affordable health coverage that is similar to the plan available to members of Congress."

"Comprehensive benefits. The benefit package will be similar to that offered through Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP), the plan members of Congress have. The plan will cover all essential medical services, including preventive, maternity and mental health care."

I AM covered under FEHBP, and it ain't that great. Granted,we have an open season every year to switch health plans if you want to, but the choices are becoming more limited every year and the coverage is shrinking every year and premiums are increasing every year to boot. But it is better than any plan my wife's work offers but it leaves a lot to be desired. I would like to compare MY FEHBP with McCain/Obama FEHBP plan!!!!

How is "make available" legal jargon? I don't see how you can take anything from "make available" except that they will "make it available"

I'm no expert on fed employment benefits but it sounds like your FEHBP should be the same as their FEHBP plan:

"The benefit package will be similar to that offered through Federal Employees Health Benefits Program (FEHBP), the plan members of Congress have."

Generically speaking - sure, it's available. But at what cost, and could people actually afford it?

"Obama and Biden will make available a new national health plan to all Americans, including the self-employed and small businesses, to buy affordable health coverage that is similar to the plan available to members of Congress."

I know that "affordable" is generic, but you can't provide exact numbers when it will differ for each person.

You can read his plan for your self here - http://origin.barackobama.com/issues/healthcare/

Well if it's available to ALL Americans, then it needs to be affordable to ALL Americans.
