Make available if you complete a series of tasks such as fill out lengthy - complicated paper work that requires unavailable information (such as empoyment codes and/ or a place of residence for a given period of time as well as references that may not exist) and would be problematic for many of the people who don't have health insurance to begin with because of mental health or intellectual issues as well as substance abuse problems or major depressive disorders who simply could not or would not participate . . . the small percentage of people who can't get health insurance (not those who can and simply don't) would remain mostly unchanged . . .

as far as affordale to ALL Americans . . . would those in Eastern Massachusetts, New York city and Long Island Suburbs, and the Malibu, CA area get the same rates as many of the counties in Alabama, West Virginia, and Mississippi? Not being a snob . . . but it is a serious question.

I don't want the plan that Obama proposes for me.

I want the plan that he has now. I want to present myself at Bethesda (Walter Reed, or other facility), go to the head of the line, receive top care and leave without spending a cent.

I don't like McCain's plan.

The problem in this country right now IS private health insurance.

We need a universal health insurance plan - everybody covered. Too expensive? No. That's health insurance company hype. Canadians are healthier than we are for a per capita cost that is less than what we pay.

yep...and I was really astounded how the rates in Colorado
were so much higher than those that I can get in California.

They don't give a s*** about our healthcare because they can butt in line at any government facility and get care for free. If they haven't earned that care by serving in the military, they need to stay the hell out of military hospitals.

They don't give a s*** about social security because they receive a congressional pension. If senators and representatives had to count on social security, they would take better care of the program.

They don't give a s*** about our income because they make at least twice the U.S. median income.

but as long as people continue to contribute millions to elect these people, they will continue to not give a s***.

Hey look, I essentially agree with you on all your points there. Wouldn't it be nice if we could vote to give ourselves a pay raise? The slate needs to be wiped clean every few years, but everybody thinks their congressman or congresswoman is great so they send them back to office 90% of the time.

But actually I do think some of them do care about health care for those that can't afford it. I don't think they all don't give a s***.

Apparently so. His website says "similar". It doesn't say "exact". And it doesn't lay out the differences between what the Obama health plan would be and what the current members of Congress receive, it just says "similar".

I AM covered under FEHBP, and it ain't that great. Granted,we have an open season every year to switch health plans if you want to, but the choices are becoming more limited every year and the coverage is shrinking every year and premiums are increasing every year to boot. But it is better than any plan my wife's work offers but it leaves a lot to be desired. I would like to compare MY FEHBP with McCain/Obama FEHBP plan!!!!

I could be covered under FEHBP as well, but I've chosen coverage under my wife's employer - it costs us a hell of alot less and covers a hell of alot more.
