Its amazing to me that the approval rating of most politicians are below 50% in fact in moany cases, FAR below 50%. Yet they campaigne by completely distroying the character of their opponents and put down nearly everything about them from their religion to the family's history to the clothes they wear. Then they wonder why the majority of American's would rather trust a Hell's Angel with a 6-pack than a politician with an agenda.
I love you, Glenn!

I don't think we have enough bandwidth to discuss SNL skits that aren't funny.

The HA isn't dangerous until he runs out of beer....
And how dangerous is a politician needing a quick vote fix?

much more dangerous. the Pol is 0-60 like [snap] and they already have a plan in mind when they go off. It could take 90-120 seconds for the beer to go away

I think that the problem is that people do believe everything that they hear.
Examples:
Barack Obama was sworn into office on the Koran.
George W. Bush waved to Stevie Wonder.
Bob Saget raped and killed a girl in 1990. (I've heard that one repeated several times.)
If so many people weren't so gullible, we wouldn't need fact checkers and things like Snopes, and people might actually vote based on a candidate's positions on the issues and not out of misguided fear.

Can Snopes confirm Palin's Hotness? My fear is that I underestimate how hot she is . . .

YES!
Examples:
Barack Obama was sworn into office on the Koran.
It wasn't Obama, but, rather, a Senator(?) or Congressman(?) (one or the other) from Minnesota was, either in the last election or the one previous.
It caused quite a controversy, but, actually, it wasn't as big of a deal as some people were making it out to be.
Poor taste, yes, but something to lose sleep over, definately not.

See the movie "The Aristocrats" its a documentary type film and he crosses about every line imaginable in it. Careful though 90% of the joke revolves around incest . . . though I guess the joke could be told making the talent a group but the family thing lends shock to it all . . .

You and I know it was someone else, but there are emails going around saying it was him and people believe it. It's on the Internet, so it must be true.
My single biggest problem with the election season is that people make decisions on who they are going to vote for based on things like this. Personally, I like Obama. If I'm not mistaken, you're more inclined to vote for McCain. If you choose to vote for McCain because you're pro-life or because you like his tax related ideas or his intent with Iraq or whatever, I am happy that you have an opinion and I have no real right to argue with your choice, even if I have a different opinion.
However, if you are instead actually voting against Barack "Muhammad" Obama because he is the Muslim son of a Militant Radical Muslim, who was sworn into office on the Koran (etc.), then we need to talk. I know a couple people who intend to vote based on this logic despite my pleas to educate themselves about him. I don't care who individuals vote for as long as their decision is based on issues and reality and not because of some email forwards they read.

I agree with you....and if SNL did a skit like you described, they'd be thrown off the air for racial insensitivity.

Somebody has to ask, so I'll step up to the plate. If doing a skit like that about Obama would get the show thrown off the air, why is the skit they already did about Palin's family any less offensive? I've seen a lot of comments in this thread along the lines of "it's only a joke", "maybe it was a little over the line", "relax", stuff like that. Either everybody is fair game for comedy, ridicule, parody, or whatever you want to call it, or nobody is fair game.

That depends on who you ask. I had a discussion with someone last week and in the midst of the "facts" I was being told about him, the person told me that his middle name was Muhammed. When I corrected the person, the response to his correct middle name was "well that's not much better." I've seen the incorrect middle name in forwards people have sent to me.
FYI - I do know it's Hussein, hence why I put Muhammad in quotes.
