a large portion of the islands (pacific and caribbean) are french. he loves to speak french  so cute.... and probably has a deep appreciation of the history and culture as a result of his time in the islands.

I think it's pretty simple - he wants to and he can. End of story.

or JANE wants to. I think she loves Paris a lot. So Jimmy is able to reward his wife and bandmates with the trip.
And he can, so he does.
Plus there's that 'French wines and cheeses' thing. [smilie=beadygrinner.gif]

I can't say anything that anyone else has already said. He a grown a$$ man and can do whatever he wants :D

In all seriousness, maybe he just enjoys getting back to his roots in the smaller clubs he cut his chops in so long ago. I'd love to see him somewhere small and cozy, since he's not coming to my living room anytime soon (although I have a nice bar and comfy stools). Paris might be the next best place. One day I will see him there...

I'm a permanent reminder of a temporary feeling!

Then she should have played a small club in NY 2 weeks ago when it was Fashion Week here. He could even stay in his NYC apartment.

Nothing can give you a warm and fuzzy feeling like a body cavity search..... :o
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways - Pinot Noir in one hand - chocolate in the other - body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming "WOO HOO"

It's a business venture....Where is next Margaritaville going to open outside of the USA? My guess is Paris, or London. Notihng wrong with...go Jimmy!! As long as he keeps touring and making music I don't care!
