Digital Camera's Help Please!

Post by Joetown Parrothead »

Sorry if this in another Thread! Please move if so! :D

What kind do you have?? I just bought a new one this weekend, seems to be awesome. A Cannon Powershot SD 890IS Digital ELPH had to get a new one for the Vegas Roadtrip! Still trying to figure out what all it does! It is 10MP witha 5X zoom..

I had asked in a thread a while ago and ended up buying a Panasonic TZC5 9mp with 10x zoom.

I'm very pleased with it so far with photos and video.

I have the slightly older version of that camera (TZ3K?) and really love it. I may have even been the one to suggest it when you asked. The quality of the photos it takes are quite nice and the zoom is phenominal. What closed the deal for me was the zoom combined with the compact size.

I think you mentioned it and the fact that Circuit City had a deal on it helped along with great reviews on nearly every site I checked.

I thought I wanted a "big" sturdy camera, but as you say, the size adn features on this camera blew me away.

Do you have a "sports" setting or a "night landscape" setting? These perform well in lower light from what I've experienced.

A flash won't do any good in a room that large. Flash is really only designed for illuminating close subjects. Although I'm not one who'd know best, I'd think you either need a slower shutter speed and a tripod for steadyness or a copy of Photoshop to brighten what you have.

My wife is a professional photographer and for christmas i got a cannon powerhot S5IS (I think) it is 10 megpixles and has i think a 12X zoom? Anyway I like it alot (although i dont know half of what i can do) I think it was in the $350.00-400.00 range. it has a screen that you can pull out and flip around (good for taking pictures of yourself). It also has video, its a great camera. She uses nothing but fuji cameras i believe but they are $1,500.00 to $4,000.00 cameras way more than i need.

here is her website if anyone is interested.

That is the camera I would have bought if I had not been so concerned with being able to fit it into my pocket. It's a very nice camera and I really liked the zoom and the flip around screen.
