Michigan State Basketball: Tom Izzo, Jud Heathcote, Magic Johnson and Mateen Cleaves.

For any college program, I think you have to have at least one coach. They're the long term face of the program. The players are just there for a short period of time.

Montreal Canadiens

1. Rocket Richard
2. Jean Beliveau
3. Guy Lafleur
4. Ken Dryden

This is a team that could easily have 30 players on it's " Mt Rushmore"....like Larry Robinson, Patrick Roy, Jacque Plante, Boom Boom Geoferion, John Ferguson, Yvan Courneyor, Serge Savard, Steve Shutt, George Vezina, Henri Richard, Jacques Laperriere, Howie Morenz, Doug Harvey, Dickie Moore, Georges Hainsworth, Bill Durnan

The team is a who's who of Hockey greats, has more Cups than the next 2 teams combined, and more players in the Hall of Fame than any other team....what more can you say? Go Habs Go!!! It's their Centennial year.... and time for another Stanley Cup Parade down St Catherine's St next summer

I was on a roll with quarterbacks!

The "give the ball to Leroy" years were a lot of fun!
Keyes and Phipps were both Heisman runner-ups. Purdue has not been number 1 in the polls since they graduated.
Both should be on the list, but But Dawson and Griese are in the NFL Hall of Fame, and Brees almost single handedly got Purdue to the Rose Bowl.

The Chargers would be Lance Alworth, Dan Fouts, Junior Seau, LaDanian Tomlinson (agree with you Crusty!)

The Packers are tough...Brett Favre, Bart Starr, Don Hutson, Vince Lombardi
(so many GREAT candidates!)

The Brewers: Robin Yount, Paul Molitor, Gorman Thomas, Jim Gantner
(Gantner will be bumped soon....Fielder/Braun among candidates

The Rays: HAHAHAHA!!! I'll go with Carl Crawford, Aubrey Huff, Scott Kazmir, Fred McGriff

Nuggets: Dan Issel, Alex English, David Thompson, Doug Moe

Cardinals: Tony La Russa, Whitey Herzog, Ozzie Smith, Darrell Porter (and Albert Pujols)

Broncos: John Elway, Mike Shanahan, Shannon Sharpe, Steve Atwater

The U (I'll just list some of the current NFL players...none of which have ever with-held info from a murder trial): Sean Taylor, Kevin Everett, Clinton Portis, Ed Reed, Willis McGahee, DJ Williams, Kellen Winslow, Jeremy Shockey, Jonathan Vilma, Reggie Wayne, Edgerrin James, Najeh Davenport, Bubba Franks, Andre Johnson, Santana & Sinorice Moss...aren't you glad I only listed some of the current players??

Oh and Ken Dorsey....explain to me how a guy that played four years, and only lost 2...TWO...games didn't win the Heisman?

Retired from the NFL, yet from The U: Vinny Testaverde, Jim Kelly, Warren Sapp, Jeff Feagles...oh wait....Vinny may still be playing and Feagles is the oldest NFL player now...right?

Duke: Mike Krzyzewski, Christian Laettner, Danny Ferry, Shane Battier

and was really trying to stick with current players....otherwise, as you noted, the list would have gone on (even longer than it did)

Gino!!

Irvin...not so much....other than James and Sapp I've tried to stay away from the pay-to-play era

Maryland and Kennedy, great additions
