Not unless they should be somewhere else, like representing their constituents.
I don't think Tucker Bounds and Nancy Pfotenhauer have constituents.
Then I think they should be free to do as they please.
So you think it's ok that John McCain "suspended" his campaign, yet his paid aides are still out there campaigning?

Do you think it's ok for Obama to spout off about being able to do more than one thing at a time, but can't be troubled to do the job we are already paying him for?

I guess you don't want to answer the question I asked.

And I don't think you want to go down the road of who has been doing their job in the senate. John McCain has been the most absent member of the Senate in the 110th Congress, even beating out Tim Johnson who suffered a brain hemorrhage in late 2006 and missed several months while recovering.

Well, that's what you get for guessing.

As I said before, I think it's fine for the paid employees to be campaigning. If they don't have a responsibility to be somewhere else.

What is going to happen to the hundreds of paid Obama campaign workers after the election? Will they draw unemployment or do they expect to land a patronage job?

That's not suspending the campaign then if his aides are still out their campaigning for him. The campaign does not consist of just John McCain.

Obama says that he should be able to do more than one thing at time.

Do you have your eye on a specific job in the new administration or are you just sucking up to Obama because you like it?

I thought we were talking about John McCain. I see why you would try to change the subject though. Hard to defend the indefensible.

I agree and I've never understood why nobody ever asked senators/governors "How can we expect you to commit to being a full time president when you're not even fulfilling the duties of the office you hold now".

And Fox Not New Network can't cover it because it is news.

Ok, now we have the bashing of the media out of the way. We can get back to the issues at hand.

Nah, I can't do that. I like having the media to beat up. They earn most of what we give them.

I thought that McCain wasn't going to go to the debate until a deal was reached? [smilie=huh-ani.gif]

yeah, right.

That was real leadership in muddling up what was bipartisan progress ...up until yesterday.
Now that they're both out of Washington D.C., look for the deal to get done quicker.
Neither candidate can, or should take any political credit for this finally getting done.

...but, you sure can chalk that one right up there with the other well-outspoken McCain gaffes in the past 2 weeks.

McCain isn't a flip-flopper.. he's more of a pinball. all over the board and a lot of noise and light, with a free replay for Shrub's cronies if he wins the election.
