WHY do I post so much on my blog?? Am I really just seeking attention...I've always looked it as my journal...getting my thoughts down in the written form so I can examine myself and my behavior...but WHY exactly have I chosen to do it in a public format...

I'm I really that needy? Do I need that affirmation from others?

I think that bumper and moonie/suz make some very valid and honest points.

I wasn't the least bit surprized you didn't fall for it...

I agree, tho, I'm amazed at some of the subjects people have asked advice, from..well, strangers, people that have not met in person...here, on this very discussion board.
Someone started a thread, not long after I joined, seeking advice on what to name their kid. I posted in response about "do you really want strangers naming your child?" and I got flamed for it.

I think sometimes especially because some of us DO know each other in person we forget that this is a public board, not just a private discussion between friends.....

I guess it is okay but I could never imagine broadcasting on a chat board anything but the most superficial of information. Soooooooooo,

why do some folks divulge such highly personal information about themselves with the consequence of losing control of such sensitive information? honestly, I just don't get it.
This is probably a bad time to ask, but could you post that PIN number again?

Perhaps, with some people, they think they might get a different perspective on something they have a question about in their lives, from strangers or acquaintances, than they can with family members or close friends. [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]

Ya know, now that I think about it, I believe I may have ratted myself out quite a few times on here by saying some things that were meant to be humorous but contained some truth. Some things I say/said probably made most of ya'll think I'm just a perv. But hey, at least I'm not alone on here  & I can always play the P.W.I. card

I think these are both very valid points. A lot of us have met - and we are like family to each other. We even may have disagreements with each other but that doesn't negate the deep love we have for each other and the "wanting to be there" for our friends and to have our friends there for us.

I also think that sometimes we are more honest with each other as well.

There's just so many different dynamics to why people do things. Sometimes we just have to "spill our guts" in order to heal from whatever issue.

Universally, they say you are very nice, polite, well-spoken and considerate, and that your persona online is not who you are.
