Alton Brown's final episode of Feasting on Waves
Did anybody catch this. I just watched this on the dvr. It is my fave so far. Is One Love really such a small personal place. AB said that it was his favorite stop on the trip. I love how he really enjoys meeting the people and learning about their way of life.

Yes! I never missed an episode. I loved all of them. Very entertaining.
I loved seeing where so many of the spices are grown.

When it goes from full to crescent...I move in and out of tune...Everlasting Moon....

I love Alton Brown. He's obviously well trained also.C-Dawg wrote:He graduated from NECI, a culinary school here in Vermont.
Some interesting facts
He did a voice over for a Spongebob Squarepants episode.
He has a honey bee tattoo and a crossed fork and knife with the words Eat to Live.
He was the cinematographer and director of REM's video for The One I Love.

One Love is that small and personal. Typically there are no more than a handful of people there. The kitchen is new. When we were there last December it was being built. The "building" is truly a shack. Sand floors. Walls made of stuff that washed up. Ratty couches. People write everywhere. Seddy, the owner, is the son of the BVI legend Foxy. Seddy does amazing magic tricks, is rarely without a Coors Light, and he and his wife Raquel have 2 adorable kids that are usually hanging around. The setting is amazing. White Bay is my OPH. There are a few other bars on the strand of beach including Ivan's (Kenny Chesney video) and the Soggy Dollar (creator of the painkiller and my favorite bar on Jost). The island is remote and tiny. I think they have less than 200 year round residents. The biggest hotel, Sandcastle, has 6 rooms.

Now I need to get back for Seddy's fish stew! That place is awesome...much like Alton, we headed to One Love one day, and didn't leave for many hours....what a wonderful place. Raquel is awesome, Seddy's tricks are great (I still have the paper towel rose he made me) and yes, the kids are adorable. I could go for a Bushwhacker and a cold beer at One Love right about now!Afternoon Golfer wrote:One Love is that small and personal. Typically there are no more than a handful of people there. Raquel told us she grew up in northern NJ (Randolph?). Went on vaca to the islands, met Seddy, and the rest is history. What a change in environments.lilsalty wrote:Now I need to get back for Seddy's fish stew! I enjoyed every episode...
if you're not a regular of his Good Eats program, also on the Food Network you should try and catch it sometime.
some of the segments are more interesting than others; however, I find them entertaining and very informative.
I'm sure ya'll know he does Iron Chef, too.

I never knew about the REM video. I knew he did go to film school before going to Culinary school.OceanCityGirl wrote:I love Alton Brown. He's obviously well trained also.C-Dawg wrote:He graduated from NECI, a culinary school here in Vermont.

I could never make out what the tatoo on his should was...thanks
He's a born again Christian and lives in Georgia with his wife and daughter, a bassett hound/beagle mix, and a iguana....
I thank the Lord for the people I have found
