Well, there was looting on the West Side of Chicago after one of the Bull Championships...
All I was saying that I heard through my brother-in-law, who heard it from his neighbor, who is a Chicago Cop. That Chicago PD was worried about the crowd size and the possible issues of rioting.
I would hope in a presidential election in 2008, in the United States of America. That there would not be rioting win or lose. However, in any case with events like this, there is always a certain few that like to cause problems.

I hope I am wrong, but I think there a a good chance of rioting somewhere in this country if Obama loses the election.Frank4 wrote:diverg wrote:Answer this question for, and I do not know the answer. I don't say that out of a sense of cockiness.
I say it because far too many reputable political models have indicated that this will become fact... that's all.
Even the pundits on Fox are discussing the inevitability of the Obama presidency.

Fox says that the Obama camp does not want to see polarizing figures like P.Diddy, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, or Ben Affleck at the victory celebration at Grant Park.Tiki Bar wrote:I've heard quite a bit of talk on Chicago radio saying they are trying to prepare for it, win or lose.SMLCHNG wrote:Or wins.diverg wrote: I hope I am wrong, but I think there a a good chance of rioting somewhere in this country if Obama loses the election.

I voted abstentee and still got a sticker. But instead of mailing it in, I went to the election commission and cast my ballot there.Lightning Bolt wrote:yeah... but you don't get the cool "I VOTED" stickerTheSecretsInTheCrust wrote:Voted absentee. I voted today with my 19 year old daughter( her 1st and my 11th Presidential election). We walked in - the clerk knows who we are - she hands us the ballot and we voted. Living in small town America has its advantages.
I am anxiously waiting for the results to start coming in!

I could see why they would not those folks around. Definitely too polarizing of a group there.Lightning Bolt wrote:Fox says that the Obama camp does not want to see polarizing figures like P.Diddy, Tim Robbins, Susan Sarandon, or Ben Affleck at the victory celebration at Grant Park.Tiki Bar wrote:I've heard quite a bit of talk on Chicago radio saying they are trying to prepare for it, win or lose.SMLCHNG wrote:Or wins.diverg wrote: I hope I am wrong, but I think there a a good chance of rioting somewhere in this country if Obama loses the election.

MSNBC has Pennsylvania going to OBAMA!!
That is a huge victory...really almost a clincher
The dominoes are beginning to fall towards the blue
Fox won't call Penn for Obama yet, ...but they also wouldn't call this a recession

She had been trailing for a while... she ranked pretty low in Senate effectiveness.Wino you know wrote:Elizabeth Dole has lost her bid for re-election to the U.S. Senate from North Carolina to a NOBODY.
My only question to the people of N.C. is
WHY?
What finished her, if the projection holds, was a real dirty ad she ran last week which painted
her opponent Kay Hagen as an athiest. It was a classic low blow...and it apparently has backfired.

I know I promised not to do any name caiiling, but those people have GOT to be world class IDIOTS for ousting Sen. You're seeing the backlash of just how many others in America, including ME, despise George W. Bush

I get it. (I don't agree that people should HATE President Bush, but I GET it).Lightning Bolt wrote:Apologies if this sounds too cliché , Garry.....but you're seeing the times are a'changin' tonight

However, Elizabeth Dole ISN'T George W. Bush, nor is he on the ticket for any office.
When I see dweebs like AL FRANKEN getting elected, it just convinces me more and more that people are just voting for candidates only because of the "D" after their name and nothing else. VERY ignorant, and VERY uninformed.
HELL, I'm thinking of running as a Democrat from wherever. I'm sure to get elected if THAT'S the only qualification.
