Should 'Swift Boat' be a Verb?

Post by flyboy55 »

An interesting site. Provides an antidote to all those fabrications about Obama which are making the rounds. Don't bother checking it out if you prefer hysteria and slander to truth.

Even the Swift Boat guys are back at it!

If you define it as someone that doesn't agree with the liberal agenda exposing the hypocrisy of the liberal candidate. Then yes. You could use swift boat as a verb.

The richest 1% of Americans will stand to lose the most money when Obama takes office,
and it's a mere p*** in the pond for them to spend $$$ to create slanders, untruths, and sheer fabrications to keep their ol' boy protecting their fat funds up on the Hill.

...and their campaigns were working when you'd hear typical Joe Shmoes tell you how they're working to "save the middle class". :-? :-? :-?
Why do you think they picked a rube like Sarah Palin, who NONE of us ever heard of???
$#@&...only Vegas again?? Padres ...gotta start believin'!Bring on '14 Spring Training!

If Nial Sharpa accused me of swindling $100,000 from the bank down the street just last month, and Deen Jobi pointed out that the bank down the street burned down thirty years ago, does that mean there are two sides to every story, or does that mean that the Deen is 'spinning' the situation in my favor, or is it simply that Nial is trying to 'smear' my good name and is hoping nobody notices that the bank hasn't been there since before I completed grade school?

To defend such obvious fabrications and smears is to condone them, don't you think?

But we are talking about politics here and just as in the case of war, truth is always the first casualty. It seems OK to some that our candidates do whatever it takes to get elected, including distort the truth, or condone such efforts by our supporters.

When the 'Swift Boaters' attacked John Kerry's war record (a record which contrasted starkly with Bush's own 'silver spoon service' stateside) with a fabricated smear, he was criticized by pundits and some supporters for not responding in kind. That attack alone likely played a significant role in his loss in 2004.

The same individual who funded that effort in 2004 is back with a similar ad aimed at smearing Obama with lies and innuendo.

The tactic seems to have become a permanent feature of our political process.

There is, unfortunately for the state of our nation, no apparent shortage of gullible individuals for whom such drivel is manufactured.

No....Swift Boat is a noun as it is the name of a type of boat......however if you are describing a boat that is fast then you can have a somewhat incomplete sentence using it as a verb "Swift Boat"

This type of stuff is my biggest problem with many people. People hear nonsense like the swift boat criticisms of Kerry, believe it and vote based on it. It's really sad that some people take everything at face value.

Sorry man... the criticisms came from guys who were THERE. Combine that with the obviously fabricated parts of John Kerry's story (Christmas in Cambodia???) and then you have to make a judgment call - were the Swiftees talking "nonsense"... or was John Kerry? :-?
