Yay! So does that mean it is okay to start using ***** for all the curse words I want to use? We were scolded for that just yesterday.

I used the actual word, and the software asterisked me. You can do whatever the hell you want as long as you're willing to accept the consequences of your actions.

But the actions that apply to me are different than the actions that should apply to you? I'm just askin'. I mean, if Garry was scolded by a mod for typing horsesh!t yesterday, I just find it interesting that a different mod is allowed to do the same thing. I'm just sayin'.

To get back to the question, I'm not sure. I've thought (which is stating I don't actually know) that he uses compression and possibly chorus and maybe EQ. All which cost around $100 or so a piece.

Why anybody uses Peavey and Crate amps is beyond me, they sound horrible and are horrible.

In Paris it looked like he was using a Fender Deluxe Amp.

Really? I've never heard of Jimmy using Fender amps. I've always thought they were Peavey's and Peter uses Crates.

Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird" guitar licks always impact the accelerator pedal in my truck.

Not sure if that is of any help though.

I emailed Mac asking about his strings based on a thread here from a while back. Although he didn't talk about effects or live sound, he did make a comment about getting the sounds they get in the studio/on the records.

The "brighter" sound you speak of is just that brand new string played through beautiful old tube microphones that we have accumulated over the years . In the studio you can make any guitar sound almost any way, but I still like it best when we record them as naturally as possible. Good strings and instruments and songs and microphones and people. Not necessarily in that order.

Yes, but unless he's a predator, I doubt he's older and put younger. Giving the benefit of the doubt and taking it at face value (which I admittedly preach not to do) he appears to be a teenager with less than perfect english and an obsession with Jimmy Buffett.

I think handicappers should park as far away from the building as possible - they are dangerous. Handis shouldn't be allowed to park where they can put their foot on the gas instead of the brake and go through a building. That's just wrong.
