I think Peavey's are ok, but I will definitely agree with you about Crate amps. I think I've only ever played one that I liked even a little bit.JustDucky wrote:To get back to the question, I'm not sure. I've thought (which is stating I don't actually know) that he uses compression and possibly chorus and maybe EQ. All which cost around $100 or so a piece.
Why anybody uses Peavey and Crate amps is beyond me, they sound horrible and are horrible.

Re: Guitar Effects Pedals
the green pedal looks like an Ibanez TS9 Tube Screamer.
As far as the Eddie Van Halen amps, I have owned a Peavey 5150 for years and it is a high quality high gain amp that I recommend for the more hard rockin' player. Using it for acoustic based Jimmy Buffett songs is a complete waste of time. Stick to a Fender Amp.

It's pretty blurry, but it looks like a Boss equalizer in the middle.Volcano5270 wrote:Here a good pic of Jimmy's guitar effects pedals.
Next time I have dinner w/Jimmy, I'll ask.

Re: Guitar Effects Pedals
It's definitely a Tube Screamer, an EQ and although I can't read and don't own the 3rd, it's labeled Chorus, so it's probably safe to assume that's what it is. The Tube Screamer even appears to be marked with yellow tape to show where the settings should be, so it shouldn't be hard to figure out how he sets it. Now figuring out what songs Jimmy would use a Tube Screamer on is a whole other discussion. When I think Tube Screamer, I think Kirk Hammett from Metallica, not Jimmy Buffett.
