Washington state has a mail-in ballot option that is quite popular. Unfortunately, you have up until election day to mail in your ballot, which makes it extremely difficult for our state to count it's votes correctly on election night.

I'll be heading off to my regular polling place and cancel out my oldest sister's vote.
I get to chat with all my neighbors in line. And with the folks who've lived in my neighborhood for 51 years....they usually work the polls.

I'll walk into my polling place this time.
I want the "I Voted" sticker this year

Absentee ballot. My job requires that I run the help desk supporting the polling places electronic voting machines, so I can't make it to the polling place.

I've always thought that some large chain (McDonalds, 7-11 etc) should, on election day, offer a free small drink to anyone showing proof of having voted.

That'd be an incentive for
some people!

I'm going mail in as well. Colorado's ballot is like 4 pages long this time around... all kinds of stupid stuff that doesn't belong on a ballot anyway, IMO.

No. It'll just get idiots that have no knowledge of the issues voting, just so they can get free crap. I don't want the fate of the country decided by free Slurpees.

We're aiming for early voting this year. We like to bring the kiddos so they can be a part of it too, and early voting is a little more laid back.

Dear God you're not kidding! I just read up on just the STATE issues on the ballot and oh my--there's just all sorts of stuff that shouldn't be here. It leaves me wondering who is signing the petitions to have stuff added to the ballot!
I have no idea what all my local referendums are yet but there's a gazillion of them.

I did the absentee ballot when I was 19 years old and going to school in Kansas. It was the most horrid voting process I ever did. They gave me a unfolded paper clip and I punched away. I mailed it back. I never even found out if I did it right.

I just finished filling out my <strike>novel</strike> ballot, and it will go in the mail tomorrow.

Voted at 9:15 this morning. Polling place opened at 9 and there were about 10 folks waiting to vote when we got there, with all 6 machines in use as well. When we left there were probably 30 waiting.

I had no intention of voting early untill I happened to pass by a location a couple of hours ago.
I went on in and was about 20th in line. It took about 15 minutes and I'm glad it's out of the way.
Sidenote:
There was a nutcase lady out front holding up McCain/Palin signs yelling out "You'll be sorry if you vote for Obama. He's a terrorist"
I just shook my head and laughed at her

Here in Colorado, she'd be either run off or arrested, they don't allow demonstrators within 500 feet of polling places.

She was not right at the door but out on the edge of the parking lot. I'm not sure about a 500 feet law here in Fl but she was probably right around there from the door.

I chose regular polling place, but I want to try to get an absentee ballot, but I probably won't get around to it.

But if you vote early, how can you consider all the scandals that will be revealed in the last two weeks? The corruption, the shady associates, the affairs?
...only 1/2 kidding
