This is in the MOUNTAINS, people!!!
Not in Denver!
Both ski resorts are over 50 miles from the metro area.. Loveland is 10,600 ft. altitude.![]()
Besides.. this IS good for Colorado's economy, & puts people to work.
Just keep Snoopy UP THERE, and not down here.
Ski season officially begins in Colorado

I know, it's good for Vermont's economy too but when the snow falls on Stowe it also falls in my backyard! I"m not quite ready yet.SMLCHNG wrote:![]()

I haven't heard an "official" word, but after the dumping of snow last weekend, I suspect ours aren't far behind.
Great for the resorts....heck, they didn't close until the end of June this year....they're happy...and as long as it stays UP THERE, so am I!

God love you guys in the Rocky Mt. states... I like winter (for about 2 months), but snow from Oct. to May is a little overboard for me. I need my seasons to stay in their "required" seasons....pbans wrote:I haven't heard an "official" word, but after the dumping of snow last weekend, I suspect ours aren't far behind.

I've skied in ski pants and a t-shirt, but it was BAD! The snow would have been better in a margarita.rumdrinks wrote:Something wrong with that picture....Skiing is supposed to be a cold weather sport.....those people are caught between two seasons....kinda like wearing a parka and boots to the beachSMLCHNG wrote:![]()

No- Colorado skiing was great. The base was taller than I am, and we got fresh snow at least once, and that was mid-March. The mess was in Tahoe in over New Year's several years ago. They apparently don't start getting good snow until February.

No, No, don't get me wrong...crud is just a term for "bad" snow, usually icy, chunky, granular stuff...not "snow" as most think of it....unfortunately, I've never had the oppurtunity to ski in either of those fine states....where I understand...the skiing is the best.SMLCHNG wrote:Only cause I'm proud of my state..rumdrinks wrote:Yeah, that late spring "snow" ain't really snow....crud just left on the slopes.Coconuts wrote:I've skied in ski pants and a t-shirt, but it was BAD! Does that refer to times you've skied in Colorado or Utah??
