Buffett CDs SELL (at least in my corner of the planet).

At the Wal Mart store here in our little Oklahoma city (population sub-20,000), I've noticed in the last couple of months that Jimmy Buffett CD's sell briskly.

I'd estimate, just from checking the Buffett bin on occasion, that they've sold at least 8-9 copies of "Songs You Know by Heart", two "Live in Anguillas", at least four copies of both "Changes in Latitudes" and "Take the Weather With You", as well as multiple copies of the various Mailboat live albums.

This may not sound like a lot of sales, but remember this is one store in one small town, by an artist who doesn't have a current radio hit. (I mention Wal Mart specificially because I often go there to pick up items after I get off work in the mornings -- it's the only place open then -- and usually I'll peruse the music bins then, too.)

I don't know how briskly the Buffett catalogue flies off the shelves in other locales, but our local store seems to have trouble keeping his CDs in stock. (Twice I've gone in to buy "Changes in Latitudes" -- that'd I'd looked at the previous morning -- only to find it gone the next day. I finally nabbed it two mornings ago.)

It would seem that the Parrothead population here in southeast central Oklahoma is strong and growing.

Parrotheads ain't no endangered species here!

Where in OK are you? There's a group of BN'ers from OK and Tex that used to get together quite a bit. We called ourselves the Texoma Gang.

We lived near Ada, in Pontotax -- um, PontoTOC County, if you know where that's at.
