i was thinking of upgrading my ipod to one of these.. anybody have one?

yes, one of the 8gb units. works well. like the additional free (and some pay) apps available for it in the Apple store. Almost a PDA, tho still can't get it to recognize my address book and import it.

I'm thinking of making it my Christmas present to myself -I read good things about it & spoke to someone who has one & they really love it -it is like an iphone without the phone

They're cool, but overpriced, IMO. Apple charges extra to be in the "in crowd".

I have one and like it alot. The larger screen is great for movies and shows when you don't want to lug around a portable DVD player. For $9.95 you can download the Iphone software and as stated in an earlier post allows you to add a ton of applications, games, GPS, ect. I bought mine over a year ago for $325...I think, the 8g should be less by now but over all I love it.

I have the 8G and love it. Lots of storage, easy applications, good video, music and photo storage. Love the touch screen.
