Guns N’ Roses Officially Announce “Chinese Democracy”
Guns n’ Roses released a statement today (10/22) officially confirming the arrival of Chinese Democracy on November 23rd. “The release of Chinese Democracy marks a historic moment in rock n’ roll,” said Irving Azoff and Andy Gould. They also added that Best Buy would be launching a “monumental campaign that matches the groundbreaking sound of the album itself.” Pre-orders begin today(10/22) for the 14-track album co-produced by Axl Rose and Caram Costanzo (Pearl Jam’s No Code, Rage Against the Machine’s Evil Empire). Chinese Democracy will be available on CD, digital download and vinyl (with a free digital download option) through Geffen Records and Black Frog (Rose’s publishing company).

With “Chinese Democracy” Official, Dr. Pepper Reveals Free Soda Plan
Finally, after over a decade of false starts, we will finally get what we’ve all been waiting for: a free bottle of Dr. Pepper. With yesterday’s official confirmation that Guns N’ Roses’ Chinese Democracy is really happening, the makers of Dr. Pepper announced their plan to make good on their promise to provide everyone with free soda. “We never thought this day would come,” said Dr. Pepper vice president of marketing Tony Jacobs, “but now that it’s here all we can say is: The Dr Pepper’s on us.” Starting November 23rd, the day Chinese Democracy hits Best Buy, you can head over to the Dr. Pepper website and register your information to receive a coupon which can be redeemed for a free 20-ounce pop.

I really don't care. I want nothing to do with lining Axl's bank account or his ego.

I think Axl is prophetic. I mean, the song "Patience" was on GnR Lies.

What does the title of this album and the news it is going to be released have in common?
They are both myths and will never happen.

Nothing will beat Illusion 1.

If G n' R (or more accurately, the Axl Rose Band) actually make good on that November 23rd release date one can hold out hope that Neil Young's long awaited first volume of archival recordings might finally see the light of day in 2009.

With harder economic times for me (and many, I'm sure), the library is a hell of a good thing for me.
I've got CHINESE DEMOCRACY and AC/DC's BLACK ICE coming for me.
It will be worth a listen if anything.

I've heard most of the tracks already and, as a hardcore old GN'R fan, I don't think it was really worth the wait.

The song has been in heavy rotation on the local rock station. I waited all these years for this crap?!?!? I'm hoping there is something worth listening to on the rest of the album.
On the other hand the new AC/DC is kickin' a$$ and takin' names. How often can you say about a band: "nothing's changed" and have that be a compliment?

There are two songs in particular that I really like, but they aren't what you'd expect from the old GN'R. Those songs are I.R.S. and Better. If you look around online, you can probably find them somewhere to download or listen to if you can't wait.
