MUM's need some help please!

Whos has taken the store bought MUM's and planted them???? Do they come back next fall?? Wondering, I have about 12 of them I am wanting to know how to get them to come back, never tried MUMS before.... Whatever advice you can give me I am greatful!!!

You can with varying degrees of success.

Plant them now and when they die, cut them all the way back to stubs.

Then follow these directions.

The main trick next year is to cut them back in half when they get 18" tall.

be sure to check your zone for how to care for them...looks like you're zone 5 or 6

yeah, they will be tall and gangly (leggy) looking and the blooms will be small, if you don't cut them back...

Thanks, I have them all under the carport. we are going to get our first freeze tonight! Try to plant them next weekend!

What variety are they?

Belgian mums do not come back as well as their heartier kin with larger leaves.
