Are you hard of reading? Nothing was 'painted over'. A new plane, bearing no flag on the tail, was painted with the Obama logo, once again bearing no flag. So the tail of the NEW plane, having had no original flag and being painted with a flagless Obama logo, STILL HAS NO FLAG. No flag was removed, painted over, desecrated, or mishandled in any way.

Rumors can be very damaging, as anyone who has ever been to school knows. The rumor mill moves fast in school. But on the Internet, rumors move at light speed to huge audiences and can cause a great deal more damage than what happens at school.

Are you hard of reading? During refurbishment of Obama's chartered plane the American Flag WAS REMOVED and replaced with Obama's emblem.

North American did not buy a new unpainted plane for Obama. Trust me on that, I work for the company that owns North American.
With all due respect, and I am NOT an Obama supporter, it does say at the bottom of the Snopes article that the flag on the tail was removed because it was part of North American's registered trademark.
I'm just sayin'..... [smilie=noeyedear-shrugging.gif]
Yes, it is part of the NA logo, would have looked nice on a plane being used by a presidential candidate.

Not for nothing, should NORTH AMERICAN Airlines at least have the flags of Canada and Mexico somewhere on there too (Not to mention Central America and the Caribbean)?

Sometimes more than others,
we see who and what and where we are,
I'm just a one man band,
With my feet in the sand,
Tonight I just need my guitar

I'm gonna admit to not reading the whole thread, but how does freedom of the press translate to being allowed onboard a private plane?

Reporters from three newspapers were removed from the plane after their newspapers endorsed McCain. The timing appears to be retaliatory, unless you want to explore the idea that or maybe Dallas, New York and Washington are just not important cities.

Another matter is that the Obama campaign is charging for media access on election night. The more a media organization pays, the better their broadcast location will be.

It is difficult to believe that a candidate who excludes media outlets that disagree with him and provides preferential treatment for those that pay more would behave any differently in office.

I don't find it that difficult to believe. His campaign is privately funded. If he makes it to the White House, you're playing with a different deck of cards, taxpayer money.

He has every right to exclude whatever media outlets he wants, for whatever reason. (For now of course. Once he's playing with the different deck, he will not.)

And those media outlets have the right to write whatever they wish.

That's something I would never do!

FOXNews.com wrote:Journalists from three major newspapers that endorsed John McCain -- the Washington Times, the New York Post and the Dallas Morning News -- have been booted from Barack Obama's campaign plane for the final leg of the presidential race.
the three newspapers' reporters were told to find alternative transportation by Sunday so that the plane could accommodate "network bigwigs" and reporters from two black magazines, Essence and Jet.
Dallas Morning News Editor Bob Mong told FOXNews.com that the "indication" from the Obama campaign was that they were kicked off the plane since they don't represent a national outlet and they don't represent a swing state.

"We argued that [considering] the size of the Morning News and stature, we obviously would want to be on board," Mong said. "We're obviously not happy about it, and continue to protest."

He said, in fairness, that the McCain campaign recently pulled Morning News staff off the Republican's plane when space became an issue -- but he said the Morning News would be back on McCain's plane again this weekend.
It sure ain't free on Tuesday night.
USA Today wrote:Obama campaign to charge media election night fees

CHICAGO (AP) — Media organizations will have to pay up if they want a prime spot to cover Democrat Barack Obama's election night party in a downtown lakefront park.

Obama's campaign, awash in money after raising a record-shattering $150 million last month, is asking news organizations to pay anywhere from $410 to $1,870 depending on where they want to be and if they want telephone or Internet service in Grant Park.
If Faux News told me the sun would rise tomorrow, I'd go outside to make sure.

Well, the sun does come up on the far right, doesn't it?
