That is very sad news. I was just last night working on putting together a collection of pictures of Key West into a frame that included a pic of Captain Tony and one of his saloon. I will miss him very much.

So sad to hear but what a blessing many of his friends were close by. I never had the cahnce to meet Capt. Tony but I'm sure I would have loved hearing all of his stories. Sail on Capt. Tony until we finally meet at your new place.....

Sail on, Captain Tony. You will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.

From another JB song:

He's somewhere on the ocean now,
the place he ought to be;
with one hand on the starboard rail,
he's waving back at me.
It was definitely "a moment" I feel lucky to have been down here when it happened and will always remember linking arms with other BNers and singing LMIP at the top of our lungs and raising our drinks to Capt Tony He's probably just opening his new heavenly bar about now.
I totally agree - I got chills when they announced it on the cruise....Sail on Capt. Tony ............
Ciao!

Yes...to all of the above. It seemed the fitting thing to do.

I hope and pray that if I live to be 90, I will be half as active and interesting as Captain Tony.

Well said Jen it was quite a moment...i feel honored to have been with all of my BN friends and toast him!!!

Today they had a backhoe in front of Captain Tony's.......i wonder if in typical Captain Tony style he will be buried in the bar????

   Sail on Captain Tony thanks for all the great stories and laughs!!!!

Yes, what a moment. I went down to Capt Tony's to sign the book Sunday night, I wrote that I will never forget the moment in 94 when I met him.... a lot of girls know why, and we'll leave it at that, lol. They had a white candle some flowers in a vase and a single red rose on the table with a book of memories that you could leave your comment. The bar was empty with just a few people at the bar, no music and low lights... here are some pics that spoke to me.

I was hoping he would make a book signing.

To quote another great band...
"what a long strange trip it's been"
Wish I would have met him at least once. What a great man!!!
As others have said, sail on. Capt. it was a great ride, no regrets and no looking back.
To the family, you have a great legacy to follow good luck with it. Nothing better to follow a great man.
