Damn, I haven't seen so many angry rednecks since they cancelled The Jeff Foxworty Show. (Not on here but in my life in general.)

Last night I was in the kitchen ironing school and work clothes and , of course, watching the election results. With 4 adults in my house, 1 is independent and 3 of us are democrats. My mother, me and my 18 y/o son all went to vote together yesterday morning. All 3 voting the same. Not because we follow footsteps but because that's how all 3 of us think...alike. I called Jim into the kitchen, then Mollie. And I stood there with big tears in my eyes as Brian Williams announced Sen. Obama had 330 Electorial votes and had won the election. We hugged and cried and Jim whispered to me "Momma, MY vote counted!". Now, of course, had it gone the other way his vote would have still counted but he was thrilled for his first election, HIS man won! (Mine did too...it was Clinton!)

Congrats to President Elect Obama and on the other hand, McCain did do a very nice speech and he also congratulated Obama for winning.

I agree with so many people here who have said God Bless America and now let's move on...in peace...

Might I suggest locking this thread, and starting 3 new ones:

One as a congratulatory thread for Barack Obama
One for people who would like to rip on Barack Obama
And a third for people like Mike who like to just spew out any anti-Barack propagandy that they have heard over the last 6 months, without actually doing any research?

Just a thought. The first 2 threads would probably be fine.
