And a third for people like Mike who like to just spew out any anti-Barack propagandy that they have heard over the last 6 months, without actually doing any research?
Just a thought. The first 2 threads would probably be fine.
I'm pretty good on have one positive one, period. I'm pretty much over all the political threads.

And this will bring "unity" how? Sounds like business as usual, but then again, from what I've been reading from both sides, nothing's changed but the names.

how is this any less condecending than what mikemck wrote? I can really see us becoming unified with posts like this

Please. We're less than 24 hours into this ...
John McCain vowed to support Obama in one of the classiest speeches I've ever heard from the losing side of an election ... and being the guy he is, I'm willing to bet you a bottle of Patron that he stays true to his word and works diligently to bridge the gap and reach across the aisle.
President Bush vowed to cooperate 100%, which is more than Clinton's people did when they had to leave D.C. ... I think that really shows class.
The Pope -- whose archbishops preached against voting for Obama re: his stand on abortion -- has issued his best wishes and said he would be praying for his presidency.
There are good things here ... give them a chance.

I didn't much care for that remark, either, C-Dawg ... thanks for posting.

Honestly, I disagree.
If people of differing viewpoints are segregated to their own separate threads, how do we expect unity to occur?

I was responding to the posts...there are as many Obama supporters making little jabs against those who didn't support Obama as there have been people ripping Obama......I was merely pointing out it's not a very good climate for trying to unify people. People should be expected to show good sportmanship in winning as well as expecting it from those who lost.

Sorry, I must have read your post the wrong way.
I haven't been following the other threads as closely as this one today.
This thread was really positive until the guy called Obama a Marxist. That had no place in this thread. Then, he wouldn't quit. He could have started his bash Obama thread and posted all he wanted. We were trying to keep this thread positive, and I think for the most part, we've succeeded.

And, I've seen a lot of posts from Obama fans noting how classy and statesman-like McCain's speech was. Heck, I haven't even seen any Palin bashing on the board today. It might be happening, but I haven't seen it.

Can you believe those junior high school stunts? I was so disappointed.

Bush's statements this morning were very impressive. Good for him.

If it's any consolation, I'm hoping to be elected head dirty old man. Can I count on your vote?

Whoa! Where have I been all morning. This thread went from good to bad to worse and back to good again in the time it took me to make breakfast. That guy even made Larry come out of the woodwork. That was something else! Good job moderating, Mods.
