Again you're sharper than this. Partisanship will never end . . . ever. Clearly what he is saying is party domination and bull headedness. This will prove to be tough in a Dem House and Senate but . . . .

What are you the guy at the carnvial? I don't presume to infer what people mean - I go by what they say. Considering this (and the Embassy comment; as well as two new bases by 2012 which is information anyone can look up and has been presented in the news so the United States will be in Iraq for some time despite what our President said during his campaign) very clear and direct comment was not phrased in any way metaphorical but designed to gain votes I call it a lie. Or an exaggeration. Obama is pretty good speaker - he should've and could've been more clear. I know he never thought he would end partisanship or leave Iraq - but he said it. In fact: if you have a minute go to youtube and type in Obama voters and you will see what people believe from he said during his campaign if you don't believe me. It is quite scary how easily people can be manipulated.

Chris, one thing I've seen in the political threads this year is that to a lot of the liberals here, not all of them but a lot, the idea of political give and take means "We give, you take." And that's BS. If you gonna dish it out you gotta expect people to fire back.

I thought it was a simple question.
Well I HOPE I get an X - Box 360 with Call of Duty 4 for Christmas from my aunt who still thinks I am 12 years old with is a good thing.
See how easy it is to use that word in a sentence with a specific subject. "We ran a campaign on hope . . . . " for what, no one knows is kind of vague and silly. But, yeah - Congrats Obama!

C'mon I give you credit for being smarter than this statement. We all can safely understand he meant MILITARY presence. Troops on every corner - tanks making wide rights when the signs clearly say no right hand camel turns on red . . . . We'll never physically leave Iraq . . . We've got embassies everywhere it does not mean we occupy a country . . .
Some food for thought on this subject. My brother is returning to the US from a tour in Baghdad with the 101st. Guess who is taking over for his unit? Guess who was scheduled to take over for his unit back in July? The trained Iraqi Army. The same Iraqi army that captured two terrorists within hours of them throwing grenades at a US convoy. The plan to remove troops from Iraq was always part of the strategy, and is already being implemented before Obama ever said we will pull troops out of Iraq.

I think he was ringing bells long before then. I may be mistaken but when Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone he needed some way to notify the recipient that a call was coming in. When, suddenly, he heard the melodic tones from a young Larry's bell as he went skipping down the street to school with his books slung over his shoulder and, as was the fashion at the time, his pants buttoned up at the knees. And the rest, as they say, is history.
