Scuba / Dive / Wet Condition gloves?

I'm going to be working in wet, cold conditions for the next couple of weekends. I need to find a pair of gloves that are waterproof (resistant, at least,) provide some insulation, are fairly tough, and have GOOD grip.
It's been suggested I try a pair of scuba or dive gloves. Sounds like a good idea, but I don't know what to get. Any suggestions?

I would not recommend wet suit golves as they are meant to be in the water. Maybe try some type of gortex gloves with some kind of a liner, that is what we used in the Army and they worked great.

Try REI...I'm sure they have some hiking/outdoor gloves to fit your needs

I have a pair of fishing gloves that have two fold-back fingers on each hand. The index and the thumb fold-back, so you can use your actual finger tips. Helps at those times you need good grip or to work with small parts.

....or you could just take them off for the close up work..... But if you need to have them exposed for long...the fold back thing is nice...the rest of your hand stays warm and your exposed fingers don't get as cold as quickly.....

For digging clams, I use a set of kayak gloves. They have a velcro wrist strap that keeps most cold water out. Very good compromise if you are working in the water but don't want to keep changing the water. I've broken ice to dig clams (we dig under water not on mud flats). I'll try and edit with they make tomorrow.
