I was on the Duval street cam looking out from Sloppy joes toward Green Street on Saturday night and there were police or fire engine lights coming from green street and it looked like the street was closed off....went on like that for a long time.

A link to a new article @ KeysNews.com. That page also has a link to a column about Capt. Tony and a page of photos....including a picture of him with two of his sons, born 50 years apart.

Yes there was a parade after the service and a block party in front of the bar. No, Jimmy didn't show up. Not surprised.

Jimmy had a prior commitment to do a show at the Mohegan Sun Margaritaville on Saturday. ;)
I wouldn't be surprised if he spoke privately with the family before he went to Connecticut.

Friendship or money? Hmmm..... Been at shows that were cancelled by Jimmy for lesser reasons! The guy that gave him his start here in KW. Another bad choice...

I think that Jimmy knows when it is best to stay in the background and let the spotlight be on the other person. The remembrance was for Captain Tony and Jimmy's presence could have distracted from that.

And there is no doubt that he has been in contact with the family! Jimmy seems to honor his friendships very well.

maybe he went to the wake on Friday????? Jimmy can slip under the radar when he wants to....maybe that is what he did, or visited with the family in private before the services???

i agree...i am sure that there were people who were there just waiting to see if they could get a glance at Jimmy...forgetting that the funeral was to honor a man that many many people loved and admired! :-?

It takes all kinds in this world. My sister was at a wake where in the same funeral home, Bill Murrays mom's wake was being held. People were walking up and asking him for his autograph. Talk about tacky :x

Oddly enough, he signed a couple and said he needed to be with his family and asked for a little privacy...he really is that nice of a guy in real life.

I'm confident Jimmy spoke with Captain Tony himself before he passed away, and that's the most important conversation IMHO; and most certainly something which should remain private.

I'm surprised to see judgements flying around about something we have, nor should have any personal knowledge of.

i am sure of the same...and i have no need to know...i just think it's pretty crappy for people to flame Jimmy not knowing the situation...he just lost a very good friend...people really S*ck sometimes...their feeling of entitlement towards Jimmy and what they think he should or should not do! :-?

Like I said, it takes all kinds in this world. Jimmy does not owe me an explanation of what he did. He never has and never will.

Sometime I feel like BN is turning into a weird version of Sports Radio. ...

"This is Bob from Birmingham and I am a long time fan. I'd like to say that Jimmy really needed to put Captain Tony first and cancel that show last week. Big fan, I am looking forward to seeing you all next summer. "

AUGHH!!!!!

just like people practically DEMAND that he show up for MOTM... :-?

but like was said before i am sure he paid his respects in his own way and it's no one's business but his and Captain Tony's family's!
