My Jim needs PHIN power and protection!!

Okay...here's the scoop...my son is a Senior in high school. He plays football and has for 5 years (7th grade to today!) He and his Patriots are undefeated this entire season! He couldn't be more thrilled about this. Now...they won the first play off game. They won the 2nd round play off game. Now, this Friday they travel to a school that is HORRIBLE and SCARY! The last time we played this team was 9th grade playoffs. We lost to them and they threw beer/coke bottles at our buses and rocked one of them, nearly tipping it over with the entire cheerleading squad and a few parents on board.

The chief of police for the city AND the Sheriff for the county as well as MULTIPLE officers (Hubby included) will be escorting the buses this time. Jim is concerned and he never worries about things like this. James (aka, Dad, aka Hubby) is really worried due to the newspress and the violence this other school has had.
I ask of all my PHamily here...FIRST and FOREMOST...let no one be hurt, on or off the field...secondly and WAY after the other prayers, LET US WIN!
If we do win Friday, next week we travel to a much better school and winning there would lead my boys (yes, these are MY boys!) to the State Championships. Something they have NEVER WON! The last undefeated regular season was 1982 and those players came back, wearing THEIR jerseys, cheered our boys last week. It was unbelievable.

I honestly can not believe he's an adult and his team has won ever single game this year. It all has flown by so fast. What happened to my 6 pound, black haired baby boy???
I am just worried about the trip. All those kids can do is play football and fight. Scares me...

I just got a call from Hubby. He said there's a note posted at the SO. It says they REQUEST every officer NOT of duty to escort them down there. Now, a request obviously means it's not mandatory but come on...all Henry Co. has to do on Friday nights is High School Football! And they can take their cruiser! I'm betting on a huge turn out of security. Not to intimidate the other school, but certainly let them know we will not be scared.
I want them to win so badly but I want them all safe more.
GO HENRY COUNTY PATRIOTS AND GO # 72!!!
(we put an ad in the program "#72 WE LOVE YOU! Have a GREAT Senior Year! and signed it.)

They did that when they WON???? I'd hate to see what they'd do if they lost! Phin Power and Prayers for your team... Our rivals where I grew up in S.C. used to say, "We may not beat you on the field, but we'll beat you off of it."
Our team (Tift County Blue Devils) is in the play-offs, too. We rode four hours on the bus to Atlanta with the band. We beat Martin Luther King high school in DeKalb County in our second game of play-offs. BOY howdy was it cold! Below freezing. Got home at 3 a.m. Sunday. Son is in bed now still trying to get caught up on sleep.
We're headed back to Newnan this Friday, and it's gonna be 25 degrees! They're undefeated, so we're a little worried. If we go to state, like we did two years ago, we play in the Georgia Dome.
I understand your excitement! A local DJ said USA Today says South Georgia takes its football more seriously than anywhere else in the country, so I KNOW what you are going through. I was in charge of our football program -- selling ads, designing, printing, selling -- this year, and we sold all but six. Good for you for buying an ad.
Wishing Jim and the Patriots the best!

If they can't keep the peace, maybe the kids have to play the football game without spectators, then there's no crowd to cause problems. Radical, I know, but....
I'd also hope the law enforcement in that town would turn out in force...
At any rate, everyone will be in my prayers for a peaceful, clean football game with no distractions and no nonsense afterwards.

I can't help but feel that these boys need even more prayers than your sons team....and not just for this one night!
How horrible to live in a situation where you have so much anger and pain that you behave as badly as these boys. It makes me so sad to see kids, who would possibly otherwise be contributing members of society, behave violently due to their surroundings and lack of guidance.
Prayers that everyone can be safe!
