I don't think that pointing out someone doing stupid things in front of the cameras is a good example of "lack of unity."

If Obama does something thoughtless, insensitive and foolish, I will watch it, expect it to posted and shake my head at it with the rest of you. But I don't expect it to happen.
Palin talks about the campaign, saying "It was brutal," just as they remove a dead turkey from the killing device. The interviewer says, "Any more programs on the chopping block?" just as they put a live turkey's head in the chopping block. She says "this is neat" and she did this for the "levity" and "fun" of it as the quivering turkey is killed. This is not one of humanity's finest moments. They asked her if she wanted to move the interview and she declined.

We post videos of people doing stupid things all the time. I guess I just didn't see this as political, but rather a video of someone we are all familiar with doing something less than stellar. I think doing an interview with that in the background was stupid and I would have said so whether it was Palin, Obama, or my closest friend!

Letting Lieberman keep his seat as chair of the Senate Homeland Security Committee is unity and putting divisiveness behind us. Being interviewed with someone de-heading a turkey in the background is in poor taste. Just so happens that person was the Republican vice-presidential candidate.

You don't really believe that, do you? They let Lieberman keep his chairmanship because they didn't want to throw him out of the Democratic caucus. They need him if they have any hope of having a filibuster-proof 60 seat majority in the Senate. That's the only reason they let him keep his spot.

That's exactly what I was going to say. the State Democratic party has petitioned that he be......I don't know, expelled, censured, slapped on the wrist, whatever.

Oh yeah, the funniest thing for me is the look on the guy's face when he sticks the turkey's head in the death machine. He looks like he enjoys his job a little TOO much.

I've heard her mentioned as a potential Republican presidential nominee in 2012, being that she relates so well to the Republican base.
I welcome her candidacy.
I suggest a simple campaign slogan: "Run Baby Run".

I couldn't laugh at anything where any animal was being killed in the background. I haven't watched it for that reason and frankly I wish her 15 minutes of fame would be over already.
And I don't care if it was Jimmy being interviewed, it sounds like it's just in bad taste regardless.

are you vegan or vegetarian? I've known people who shared your opinion while chewing on a steak. Talk about irony.

But do most people think it's "fun" and "neat" to stand by and watch them get killed? I'm betting it's an Alaska thing and I wouldn't understand.

I've never seen a turkey killed for dinner but I've seen a bunch of chickens killed and plucked in my lifetime.
Seen a few deers gutted too.
I guess it's a country thing.

You know the difference between Sarah Palin and that poor, dumb, ****-outta-luck turkey gettin' the ax??

I would have posted this and felt the same way whether it was Sarah Palin or anybody else. Unfortunately, it
was her. The point is the irony of someone doing a pardon interview in front of the unpardoned aas well as having a good laugh at one's own hypocracy.
Obviously you don't get it. Have you noticed how many BN'ers are no longer posting?
Do you REALIZE how many really good people are NO LONGER here to share in this community because crap like this? Have you noticed how divisive the campaign was to this "community?" Did you notice that for some folks this is personal? Did you ever think that even if you laughed hard enough you p*** yourself that JUST MAYBE in the "big picture" it just might be better NOT to post something like this? Hope you had a good laugh. That's freakin' hysterical!

I didn't post this because I found it funny. Quite the opposite. As I believe I said, this would have been posted no matter who it was. Anyone who takes this personally needs to seriously chill out. The election is over. Breathe in, breathe out, move on.

I think that anybody who chooses to stop posting here because the election results did not please them has to remember what country we are in, and what it stands for... freedom of expression.
Don't like the message? ...change the channel
There are a TON of threads that I DON'T participate in here. They simply do not interest me.
I would not for one second enter a thread that I do not want to participate in, and suggest that they stop their discussion.
That would represent the OPPOSITE of the freedom we cherish. It would be a call for censorship.
As for Sarah Palin, if she wants to keep sticking her dumb snoot in front of cameras for "photo ops", I'll continue to comment on the ensuing "controversy" and continue to derive pure amusement from it.
Hail, Hail... United States of America
more importantly, can my Chargers beat the Colts again??
