Many or you might be familiar with the Boat Drunks, they have played several times at the MOTM. Mike Miller, the former bass player, is sailing his boat from Racine Wis. all the way down to Florida and beyond. He started this trip several months ago and right now he is in a marina in Jekyll Island, GA. He has done an incredible job of sailing and also keeping fans informed on his progress. I have attached a link to his website. He's not only a great musician and sailor but he's making a journey I think many of us would love. Sail on Mike!!

Thanks for posting the link for this sail blog.

What a great trip!!!

I see it's going to take a while to read back for several months. I'm loving the photos--islands, lighthouses, marinas, ports...

Nice job, Mike!

You're in my "neck of the woods," Mike. I live on the mainland between St. Simons and Jekyll. Have a safe trip to Fernandina. You'll love it. You must go have a drink at the Palace Saloon which is not far from the marina.

Safe travels to you.

We've been hounding... err... FOLLOWING him (yeah, that's it... "FOLLOWING")
and expect to see him while he's in the area. Wanna come with, Miss Deb?

Looky! He's doing great and hanging out
with strange women at the Palace Saloon,
"Florida's oldest continuously operated
drinking establishment" in Fernandina Beach.

Absolutely. It has been fun to read. It's fun to see how his friends and mentor joined him.

What a life!! What a life adventure!!!

I absolutely love the boatdrunks. I've played their CD, Wahine Man, so much that if it were vinyl, it would have lost it's sound by now.

I'M NOT CALLING IN SICK.... I'M CALLING IN GONE!!!

I have to say that it's hard for me to talk to him without quoting his own
lyrics. But he does seem to be "winding up & letting go" and "taking
his boat as far as it will go." He's definitely enjoying his decision, and
is on a quest for warm weather! I hope he finds some while he's here.

Along with following his blog, sometimes you can stumble across Sgt. Mikey
on the web pages of various PHCs! Here's a shot of him enjoying the fun at
the Treasure Coast Parrot Heads' Christmas in the Caribbean...

They sure raised a ton of goodies for the Salvation Army of Martin County!

Mike is a great guy-I hated seeing him leave the Boat Drunks, but happy that he's doing what he's always wanted to do.
The song "Hollow Man" on their C.D. is his.

OH, and he's a retired cop from the Champaign, IL police department. :D

Very close...Sgt. Mikey served as a top cop with the Urbana police department, which is Champaign's twin city. But close enough! :D
