Good for laughs at our house still!

You're a mean one, Mr. Grinch.
You really are a heel.
You're as cuddly as a cactus,
You're as charming as an eel.
Mr. Grinch.

You're a bad banana
With a greasy black peel.

You're a monster, Mr. Grinch.
Your heart's an empty hole.
Your brain is full of spiders,
You've got garlic in your soul.
Mr. Grinch.

I wouldn't touch you, with a
thirty-nine-and-a-half foot pole.

You're a vile one, Mr. Grinch.
You have termites in your smile.
You have all the tender sweetness
Of a seasick crocodile.
Mr. Grinch.

Given the choice between the two of you
I'd take the seasick crockodile.

You're a foul one, Mr. Grinch.
You're a nasty, wasty skunk.
Your heart is full of unwashed socks
Your soul is full of gunk.
Mr. Grinch.

The three words that best describe you,
are, and I quote: "Stink. Stank. Stunk."

You're a rotter, Mr. Grinch.
You're the king of sinful sots.
Your heart's a dead tomato splot
With moldy purple spots,
Mr. Grinch.

Your soul is an apalling dump heap overflowing
with the most disgraceful assortment of deplorable
rubbish imaginable,
Mangled up in tangled up knots.

You nauseate me, Mr. Grinch.
With a nauseaus super-naus.
You're a crooked jerky jockey
And you drive a crooked horse.
Mr. Grinch.

You're a three decker sauerkraut and toadstool
sandwich
With arsenic sauce.
Cate

I was just listening to "Christmas Caravan" by the Squirrel Nut Zippers on my lunch hour. It's not a bad album, has some different styles coming at you that is for sure.

I like a lot of the songs/versions that have been mentioned. Heck, I really love some of them. But, as far as greatest CHRISTMAS song, irrespective of performer, my pick would be SILENT NIGHT.

That's always one of my favorites too, Cate. One of my favorite folk artists, Slaid Cleave, used to always do that song at his Christmas shows.

It's on his EP Holiday Sampler

Thanks for the picture, quite a wonderful album. I think I'll give it a listen on the way home.

Bruce Cockburn used to do an annual Christmas Show that always broadcast the week before Christmas on the radio. Always a great show.

Everyone has such diverse tastes in music, but Christmas songs are so universal...

Probably my personal favorite is O Holy Night. (I'll have to listen to Martina McBride's version, blackjack)

And, Barry, Little Drummer Boy is also one of my favorites and that version by Bowie and Crosby is a "pretty thing...isn't it?"

(thanks for that link)

Found Martina on youtube. Wow, I had no idea how many versions there might be of O Holy Night by Martina.

This is also a pretty one...same version with piano.
(TallSky has some very beautiful youtube interpretations of music.)

There's another one I forgot. "O Come all ye Grateful deadheads." pretty funny. Still looking for a postable version of it.
