You like us Canadians, eh?

One that always puts me in the Christmas mood is Feliz Navidad

2 other songs I love but make me cry uncontrollably are:

Merry Christmas Darling by Karen Carpenter
Candle in the Window by Alabama.

For some reason they make the tears fly and make me think of my Dad and how much I miss him. It's kinda embarrassing if I hear them at work.

Christmas music makes me very sentimental, too......
I'll Be Home for Christmas gets me every time.

Then you two must not hear "Christmas Shoes for Mama". I have the version by Alabama. It's a weeper.

Thanks for the links. Just spent the last hour having a Carpenters.....this was your life moment. Sure was a waste losing her to that disease.

Probably my personal favorite is O Holy Night. (I'll have to listen to Martina McBride's version, blackjack)

And, Barry, Little Drummer Boy is also one of my favorites and that version by Bowie and Crosby is a "pretty thing...isn't it?"

(thanks for that link)
Nancy?

O Holy Night is one of my very favorites too....I love choirs, and this one, with Mariah Carey and the choir is beautiful...

And I don't think it's a Christmas song...But every time I see children singing "Let there be Peace on Earth, and let it begin with me....."?

I sob....

See, that one doesn't get me at all.....it's the sneaky ones that are tied to actual memories for me.....I just remember my Mom crying listening to "I'll be home for Christmas" when she was 1000 miles away from her family......

Have to agree with you and Barry...I remember watching the Christmas special when Crosby and Bowie first did the Little Druumer Boy.....it hit me then as a child that 2 people from different generations, who's lives are completely different, can put all of that aside, celebrate Christmas and make beautiful music together. It's has always been one of my fondest Christmas memories and I always tear up when I hear it.

The Hi Fi was AMAZING; TV, stereo, radio, and a beautilful piece of furniture too. You could stack as many records on that turn table that today you need an iPod to have that much music in one place. 8) Grandma had her Hi FI next to the davenport. Wonder why they quit making davenports?
