This is why I don't do Christmas

all the commercialism and materialism that has been injected into the holiday season has really wrecked the true meaning of Christmas.
I realize I can't speak for Jesus

but somehow I don't think that a worker getting trampled to death by shoppers in search of a bargain no matter what cost fits in with the message of Peace, Joy and Good Will towards others.

I would rather pay a couple dollars more and sleep in late than fight my way through those crowds anymore. No offense to anyone here who likes that scene...it's just not for me.
I will occasionally buy the *second* cheapest gas on the block for the same reason - it's just not worth the aggravation to wait in lines with surly people who'll cut you off as soon as look at you.

This story still blows my mind. What the hell was so important that you needed to take off the hinges and blow through the front door and then trample a guy to death. This is one of those events that just sort gives the human race a black eye.
