First few times are scary, not just the first one.
He may also swell several days later- like 3-5. It really is normal and his balls are not going to fall off.
And make damn sure you get two all clears- we got one, but the doc insists on two, which totally saved us, as it was a fluke.
Tom didn't have any bruising.

I knew a guy who swelled - he had to use ice packs
OMG it was funny when he got a fresh one.

Got snipped after the third one. (Always used to tell the keets, "There's plenty more where you came from".)

My youngest was 5 when I had it done . . . Her kindergarten teacher told us that it caused quite a bit of confusion . . . .
"Why would Nicole's dad have an operation so that Nicole's mom wouldn't have any more babies . . ???

Tomorrow is the big day!!
We've been way too busy and I'm in a week-long meeting at work to really think about it (although I'm sure hubby is). Hopefully I'll have some good testicle news to report back to you all tomorrow.
Send hubby some nut power, if you would.

Northern nut power on the way.
I had it done several years ago. Got it done on a friday morning. Was 15 minutes on the table, and spent the weekend drinking and watching football and hockey. No pain, no swelling. It was easy.
So much easier for the guys to get ours done than have the girls go thru the surgery.
GOOD LUCK!!!

I had it done on the advice of Bob Barker.
I'd recommend getting one of these so you can't keep licking the wound.

I finally voted in the poll.

I am a woman and my man is snipped!
I think everything went well, although his mom did the driving to/from the appointment for him since I am stuck in a week-long meeting, he's crashed out on the couch sleeping right now (he was also up all night last night taking care of some Christmas details, so was very, very tired on top of the procedure itself).
He said numbing was interesting, because he always requires 3x more Novocaine than doctor's think he'll need. He said that was by far the worst part. He didn't mention anything icky about the cauterizing, so I'm assuming that was just fine.
I suppose I'll know more in the morning because I doubt he'll be up before then, which is a GOOD thing.
Thanks for your well wishes.

Doing so far so good. We had to get him a few pairs of tighty-whities to keep things snug and secure for a few days and he won't let me see him in them.

He's a boxer man through and through.
He downloaded some cool Wii games today so that has kept him busy and he's just chillin' on the couch. I made him pancakes and eggs and corned beef for dinner and I'll do a Dots and ice cream run for him once the kids are in bed.
So far he has golf balls, not grapefruits and that is a good sign.
