I don't think I'll enter this year. California is a bit too far from Pennsylvania for a "second" home. I couldn't afford the taxes on $2MM either! :o

the family that won the Dream Home they built here in St.Marys Ga. couldn't afford the taxes either. Way out of their league and ended up selling it.

I can't tell you how many post cards I sent in for that St. Mary's house. Parrotdawg was stationed at King's Bay, and we loved that area! Then I sent in about 200 for the Keys home....about time for my luck to change.

Not to mention that if you *do* sell it for taxes, given the current market I'd bet you wouldn't get a dime over $1.3 mil.

But you'd get a nice tax break on the capital losses.

I was definitely more impressed with the Florida Keys dream house, it was more of my "dream house" than this one seems to be.

I didn't enter this year as I wasn't a fan of where it was. and it really wasn't all THAT great.

I am saving my postcards for the GREEN house in Port St. Lucie, Fla. Contest starts in April.

The Green one looks more my style than the California farmhouse.
