Actually, if you look at a map, it is part of the Midwest - it's in the middle western part of the country. Don't think in such an old way, think in a realistic way.

I don't know that CO has ever been considered part of the Midwest. We've been called part of the Southwest (lumped in with New Mexico and Arizona) or the Rocky Mountain Region (or just Mountain Region), but never the Midwest.

Even Wikipedia doesn't think CO is part of the Midwest.
