Yup. If voters value postseason performance as much as they like to say they do, Schilling has to be in. Plus wasn't he on a lot of bad Phillies teams before getting traded to the Diamondbacks?drunkpirate66 wrote:Yes. I remember that Schilling came up in the Orioles organization......but was traded away for people I can't even recall now (the O's have made so many bad trades over the years.....kind of tough to keep them all straight!jonesbeach10 wrote:Yup. Another thing that could make it tough on him getting...he isn't a media favorite.....sorta like Jim Rice!!!.....but i think he should get in!!!...Catfish Hunter had less wins and got in!BottleofRum wrote:drunkpirate66 wrote:Yes. Low regular season win total could hurt him but his post season numbers should get him in eventually. In 19 postseason starts, he compiled an 11-2 record with a 2.23 ERA, striking out 120 batters in 133.1 innings, alowing just 104 hits. His teams won 10 of the 12 playoff series he pitched in and 3 world series championships.
He also owns the best career strikeout-to-walk ratio of any pitcher in the modern era.

So, is he a HOF'er?drunkpirate66 wrote:C-Dawg wrote:I thought Mussina retired?drunkpirate66 wrote:Does Mussina have it in him to get the 30 more wins needed for 300? I am actually pulling for him.
He did. It was a bad joke.
I was hoping he wouldn't...I'm happy he retired as a Red Sox player, but wouldn't have been surprised to see him try and come back mid season for AZ or TB.popcornjack wrote:did anyone actually think schilling was ever going to play again, official announcement or not?
IMO - yes. Yes for Schilling. Yes for Pedro. Although, all 3 don't have the typical "lock" HOF numbers. Schilling has the K/BB ratio, Moose has 270 wins, Pedro has a lifetime ERA under 3.00.C-Dawg wrote:So, is he a HOF'er?drunkpirate66 wrote:C-Dawg wrote:I thought Mussina retired?drunkpirate66 wrote:Does Mussina have it in him to get the 30 more wins needed for 300? Blyleven, Jack Morris, and Luis Tiant have better overall lifetime stats and aren't in.
Blyleven deserves to be in.. Jack Morris can s u ck swampwater thru a short straw.C-Dawg wrote:I agree with youdrunkpirate66 wrote:IMO - yes. Yes for Schilling. Yes for Pedro.
