My 17 year old wears a jacket, but, he wears his pants low. I've taken pictures Lots of them. I think he knows that I will be showing them to his Children later in life. Da last laugh will be mine.
He also came home with a hickey. We talked about a fund raiser to feed his girlfriend. So she will stop chewing on his neck!

That's a good one. I'll have to remember that one when it happens to my now 16-year-old.
My son wears a jacket because he'd be sent home from school if they saw how low he wears his jeans. Half his boxers would show if he weren't wearing a long jacket with a hood. They still do when he sits down.

My hubby and I have had many go arounds on this one. I feel there are bigger things to "fight" for/over so if our son, who is 13, wants to freeze his a$$ off so be it. Studies have shown that you do not get sick from being cold. He wears his pants low too and I couldn't get him to wear a belt. Well I found one that is a Dodge Viper seatbelt that is made into a belt - very cool and one snap. He loves it. Still wears his pants low but at least they don't fall off anymore - yes, that happened twice in school!

Thankfully none of the adminstrators saw it happen. He is a good kid and gets good grades and that is our biggest concern. Squeeze them too hard and they will slip out of you hands like a bar of soap.

I went to school in the late 60's early 70's ...The get ups we wore were amazing.
Teen fashions will never make sense to parents. Our jeans were worn very low too. However...we wore these thingies under them that were like a baby's onesie. A royal pain to unsnap everytime you had to visit the restroom
I remember jeans with holes and patches. I had a pair at college that had more patches than jeans. I also had a pair of bell bottoms that were so wide you could have made a couple of skirts out of them.
I live in Michigan. (think lots of snow and cold) We have kids coming in to our shop all the time in flip flops and no coats. They are usually miserable, but won't admit it.
I have to admit if I were a parent and my kids crack or underwear were showing...I'd be embarrassed. But I'm sure all other parents understand....
And those of us who aren't parents are prolly smiling wryly and thinking I wonder what I looked like at that age
