Over the years most of my money has gone towards the albums (both on vinyl and compact disc), concerts, VHS tapes, DVDs and t-shirts. I've also made quite a few purchases through Margaritaville for Christmas gifts. As for the Margaritaville Cafes themselves, although I'd like to visit one at some point, I haven't really gone out of my way to do so.

I've only been to a restaurant once at Myrtle Beach. Not one in my town. But if there were I wouldn't frequent it at all. However, I would take visiting friends who wanted to go. I'm sure they would just have to see that big storm and big blender drop from the ceiling. We have a great cullinary community here with plenty of eateries that beat the heck out of Margaritaville in quality and price. This of course has nothing to do with my admiration of JB. This is about eating which I take as seriously as Jimmy. See his comments from the Outer Banks diary part 3.

No...the question asked about your contribution to the "Margaritaville Empire"...not the restaurants alone.

Actually it says ..."Margaritaville being recognized as the highest grossing restraurant in the country, I wonder who here feels like they've personally helped contribute to the place gaining the number one spot."

That certainly has nothing to do with anything else I'm guessing - CD and DVD and t-shirt sales don't have anything to do with the restaurants being number one.

I've brought some friends and family there. I guessed earlier around $300 including going next door. Excluding going next door, it's probably more than $300 actually. But not much.

JustDucky pointed out the flaw in my question. Apparently I did not adequately move the reader from thinking about just the restaurant to the Margaritaville empire, although that was my intention. I began the post by just wondering about the restaurant and ended up asking everyone to comment about their contribution to the Buffett empire (Margaritaville and Shrimpboat Records, etc).

There's no way I could guess what I've spent on their products over the years, but I'm sure it's a huge amount.
I know I've contributed $44.00 this week alone.

Well, I own every CD Bubba has put out, except for Live in Anguilla. I'll let someone else figure out how much I spent on that collection.
