Thinking of Heading to Tampa for February Vaca...

Post by PetalMel »

HIYA!

Snowed in Parrothead thinking of taking family of hubby and small keets (4 and 6) to Tampa in mid February. I'm finding pretty good deals on Travelocity and wondered what pholks thought of the area, the Beachcomber Resort, etc. We did Orlando last year and would kind of like to be able to relax at the beach, maybe do some day trips on boats, etc.

So, is the resort decent? If you had the choice of where to stay in the area that is frugal (okay, I'm cheap but like the word FRUGAL better....), things to do with small kids that won't break our budget, etc. what would you do?

Thanks tons for your insights. From what I've researched the area and resort look nice enough. I just hate to spend the money to find out it isn't as nice as we would have hoped or doesn't have enough things to do that we end up bored (in warm weather??? I doubt it!)
well, ummmmmmm, yah, I guess I better come up with something witty to put in this spot since everyone is reading it.......

you aren't helping my cause.....I want to wear shorts outside without freezing and I'm willing to be somewhat unfrugal to do it...

We stay at the Tradewinds Resort on St Pete Beach....we love it and have stayed there at least 4 or 5 times now. There is plenty of stuff for young kids, and enough to keep the adults happy too. http://www.tradewindsresort.com/
We're heading down in 12 days....I can't wait to get out of this snow, cold and freezing rain!

You might also PM Gulfbreeze and talk to him about the Malyn
