Bama Breeze - Beer In Video
I was just watching Bama Breeze and I know it was talked about back when the video came out and the talk of him leaving Corona to Landshark but I can't remember if it was ever decided - is that a Budweiser he's hoisting in the video? I know it looks like one but it's difficult to tell exactly.

That's a great question, JustDucky. It's definitely worthy of investigation.
The following dataset was collected by careful observation.
1) Parrotheads drink a HELL of a lot of beer
2) Jimmy DEFINITELY does not drink Landshark in this video
3) I am having a slow day at the office and have way too much time on my hands
The following dataset was collected by careful observation.
- ==========================================================
0:30 - Woman at the pool table - looks like a landshark
0:43 - Guy at the bar with friends... looks like a landshark
0:50 - The beer bottle on the bar next to Jimmy is definitely NOT a landshark
0:58 - The beer bottle on the bar next to Jimmy is definitely NOT a landshark
1:15 - The beer bottle on the bar next to Jimmy is definitely NOT a landshark
1:20 - Possibly a landshark in the hand of the kid on the left
1:27 - The beer being drunk by the kid on the right is definitely NOT a landshark
1:35 - The beer being toasted by the two bikini-clad beauties is quite possibly landshark
1:44 - The torsoes of the two bikini-clad beauties are dancing together - possibly a landshark
1:45 - The happy kid pointing at the camera is probably holding a landshark
2:10 - The beer bottle on the bar next to Jimmy is definitely NOT a landshark
2:33 - The beer being carried by the girl on the beach is definitely NOT a landshark
3:03 - The beer bottle raised by Jimmy is definitely NOT a landshark
3:12 - One of the beer bottles being raised by the crowd is possibly a landshark

Towards the end there's a clear one that looks like Miller High Life.
I didn't see anything that looked like Landshark. I'll have another look.

I think they screwed around with the color of St Louis Bay - because it's never that color.

Looks like Bud and Millers to me. Since the video is a period one, maybe they tried to be authentic to what most people were dringking in the 70"s. Maybe one of the long necks tht we can't read is a Schlitz.

Re: Bama Breeze - Beer In Video
After a little research, I think I've solved the riddle.
The Video was released in October 2006
I believe Landshark Lager made it's debut in January 2007
It's very doubtful that Landshark Lager was used at all in that music video.

It's important to note that the video shoot took place months before the actual release, too.

Re: Bama Breeze - Beer In Video
I would imagine AB had prototype bottles of Landshark long before January 2007. They could have made them available for the video shoot.Dezdmona wrote:I was just going to post this...MrTwain wrote:After a little research, I think I've solved the riddle.

Re: Bama Breeze - Beer In Video
That might be part of the reason Landshark tastes so bad, like Corona - a clear bottle is not good for beer. Proper beer makers know this, that's why they use a brown bottle. Green is better than clear but not as good as brown.

Re: Bama Breeze - Beer In Video
I've read in several places that brown bottles are better, also. I've also heard that you don't want to buy beer cold, then store in at room temp, then get cold again. I adhered to that rule until I talked to a cousin that works at a beer distributor. He said you don't even want to know how many times your beer was cold and then warm again on the way from the brewery to your local store.
Re: Bama Breeze - Beer In Video
I've seen some beer trucks that are refrigerated. Those are the actual beer trucks, the small ones. The big ones don't seem to be chilled. Some of the small ones don't seem chilled. It is fact that the brown bottles preserve the beer better and clear bottles are bad for the beer.
I dunno how one can actually tell if the beer has never gotten warm. There is no way to know I guess. Well, at home it's easy to tell. I've got friends who like Corona Light and they let it get warm and every now and then I'll have one and it's just AWFUL - way worse than when it's stayed cold.

Ya gotta think there's got to be some temperature-sensitive technology that could be combined with labeling to show that..... Sort of like the strips you can put on the outside of a gas grill propane tank.JustDucky wrote:I dunno how one can actually tell if the beer has never gotten warm. There is no way to know I guess.

I thought Billy beer only came in a can...Salukulady wrote:Video set in the 70's and in the south....maybe it's Billy Beer!
I would think the corporate shill that Jimmy has cleverly and only semi-quietly become
either a Modelo (Corona) or Anhueser-Busch (Landshart) beverage product displayed prominently
